What do you create? Be sure to include link(s) to where they can find your content.
My names Ethan! My creation journey started initially as a way to help people. I felt like I got A LOT of help when I started out my ServiceNow journey through browsing community forums, sites, and social platforms searching for ways I could best solve problems I was facing. Initially I tried to do the same, I was trying to answer as much as I could on the ServiceNow community and write articles where I could. Today with my busy schedule you'll mostly find me contributing via LinkedIn Articles or through the Ottawa ServiceNow Developer Meetup!
How did you get that started? Why do you keep sharing?
I got started simply by simply trying to respond to existing questions that were not already answered on the ServiceNow Community. Shortly after that I got the bug to share more and contribute. I was lucky enough early in my career to get to speak on panels, podcasts and videos as part of my first job. I really enjoyed sharing that way, in a longer form. I feel like its how I am best able to express my thoughts using longer form articles or presentations! I keep sharing because I just want to help others and pay back to the universe the help that I got from so many great people when I started my ServiceNow career. As long as what I share and contribute helps and keeps people interested, ill keep doing it!
How many times have you been named a ServiceNow MVP?
This is my second time as an MVP and none of it has really sunk in yet, and I don't think it will until I one day get some perspective from this whole thing. I remember seeing MVP as something that was only reserved for a different type of person in the ServiceNow ecosystem, and not me. I never thought I would be able to obtain something like that, or that kind of recognition within the community. So to be honoured a second time is truly special. I always used to think "you can do anything" was cliche and unrealistic, but I truly believe that in this space and this ecosystem, if you put your mind to something you can achieve it. So if you're reading this and are thinking (like I used to) that you could never be a Rising Star or MVP, believe in yourself, find a way where you can contribute authentically, and go for it, because you can!
