I've been asked through the years about how to manage licenses for Software-as-a-Service with Software Asset Management (SAM) in ServiceNow. • Use the Software Usage [cmdb_sam_sw_usage] table to track usage
• The data to populate this table comes from the online software's management console
• Import the data
• Create the Software Model and Software Counter from the newly created Discovery Model
• Set the License type to something based on the Software Usage table
• Add Software Licenses
• Count licenses to determine compliance
• Use the Last scanned date as a filter on the counter if you pay on some timed basis based on usage
