ServiceNow Toolbelt extension for Chrome and Firefox

Import · May 18, 2018 · article

Hi everyone,

Just a few words to introduce a free, open source and light extension that I started as a personal toolkit and finally released 3 months ago on Chrome and Firefox stores. ServiceNow Toolbelt provides a set of tools aimed at developers for productivity.

See this introduction page for more screenshots and informations.

The features include:

  • Lists open tabs grouped by instance
  • Automatically record visited instance
  • Set friendly names for known instances
  • Quickly open new tabs on known instances
  • Quick access to documentation or API searches, with an autocomplete feature (classes and methods)
  • Automatically rename tabs for older UIs ("ServiceNow" => "Incidents | ServiceNow")
  • Scan instance nodes and show current
  • Switch to a specific node (on service-now.com instances; requires cookies permission)
  • Download the server side logs in a txt or csv file
  • Reopen the current page in the ServiceNow frame
  • Select a color to fill the favicon for each instance (awesome to know exactly which browser tab is on which instance)
  • Use the Alt+C shortcut to quickly access the extension popup

The features in bold are the ones I use all the time and couldn't do without now, but it's personal. image

I'd love to have some feedback (here or on the project issues on github), suggestions, bug reports, or even contributors.

Hoping this helps,

Sylvain
