The MID Server (Management,Instrumentation, and Discovery) enables communication between a ServiceNow instance and the customer network, it's a Java application that runs as a Windows Service or a Unix daemon (Windows is recommended), that's communication requires only an outbound connection on port 443.

The MID Server facilitates communication and movement of data between the ServiceNow instance and external applications, data sources, and services.
Multiple MID Servers can be used with line-of-sight (LoS) on each network subnet.
The MID Server is installed behind the customer firewall, as close to the target devices as
possible.
The MID Server initiates all communications using SOAP on HTTPS (port 443).
The MID Server it's used in Discovery, Service mapping, Orchestration, System web services, connectors.
The MID Server it's used in Event Management to connecttor third party monitors.
* The default polling time to collect events from the event sources
120 seconds.
The mid server user need role (mid_server)

Steps / Passos

01. Log in to the Windows host machine where you want to install the MID Server.

02. Create a folder for the MID Server on the top level of the drive such as ServiceNow\MID Server1.

Crie uma pasta na raiz, como, por exemplo, c:\MID_Server1\hosname\

03. Download the MID archive file into the new folder

Dentro da instância http://instancename.service-now.com acesse o caminho

>> MID Server > Dowloads

04. Right-click the archive and select Extract All.

Clique com o botão direito e descompacte os arquivos

Navigate to the service-now\\agent folder that was created when the file was extracted.

Navegue na pasta descompactada

Run installer.bat to start the MID Server installer..

Execute o arquivo installer.bat

Obs: To configure the MID Server manually, skip to this step. (Para configurar o MID server manualmente) [XML]

06. Use the installer to enter the following information.
