Import · Jul 29, 2024 · video

[Applause] [Music] welcome to this session covering actionable banners a component of content publishing within employee Center Pro actionable Banners are a great way to drive Employee Engagement and or action you can Target banners to create audiences of employees using employee attributes such as job location Department geography or combinations thereof you can also schedule Banners To Be Active at certain times such as banners regarding benefits open enrollment during a certain time of the year today we'll take a look at some Banner examples and then we'll go through an example of creating one for the first example I've logged into employee Center Pro as an individual contributor who is a new hire you notice he has banners applicable to his status as a new hire actionable banners have buttons that can drive a user to certain pages in the portal or to tasks or catalog items or knowledge articles or even outside the system our new hire's first Banner drives him to catalog items where he can order his laptop so that he is ready for day one the next actionable Banner takes him to a knowledge article that provides him information about his first day at work and the last Banner example for this new hire lets him know about communities and forums that he might be interested in as a new hire now let's switch users and see another example of actionable banners and audiences in action this is a sample manager user you'll immediately notice her banners are different than than our new hires were for example the first Banner she sees when she logs in is one that directs her to complete an annual conflict of interest disclosure because this is the most pressing item at hand for our managers we've configured this Banner to be the first one that she sees when she logs in as she comes back to her homepage you'll now see see the second Banner that is in her scrolling view is to click on and visit the new manager Hub page which is available to our managers for our last example I'd like to take you to a topic page in this case the benefits topic page this is an example of an actional Banner on a topic page since it is open enrollment time the organization is placed a banner on the benefits page that advises our users of the timing of open enrollment and it includes a button that will take them to an external destination site to enroll in benefits now that we've seen some examples of actional banners from an end user's perspective let's go and take a look at an example of how to create one here I am logged in as a user user with content creation security rights I've in my Content Library and we're going to go through the process of creating a banner so at the top right hand side of the screen I'll click new come in here and indicate I'd like to create portal content and a banner in particular our first step is to give the content a name and then you see the order indic indicator this is where I can decide what priority it shows up on a screen if we have multiple banners if you remember my example with the manager the first item she saw was that conflict of interest disclosure that was marked as Priority One the remaining Fields will come in and add the actual content of the banner the user reference table determines the variables you can use to personalize text or the block content for example if I want a personal greeting hi Maria or a greeting or text that might reference a user's location the headline and the heading text are what will display in the banner I'm also going to indicate that I would like to add a button and in this case we'll see we can title the button where I can come in and just say click here and then I can store a reusable library of links so that button directs our users where we want to go lastly in this example I'm going to add a background image so I'll just navigate to where my images are stored indicate okay and once this uploads we'll then see a preview of what our content will look like I'm happy with the way this particular Banner looks so I'll save and continue and the next step is to create a publish plan we'll name our publish plan and then indicate which location or portal we would like this to be displayed now I'm just choosing which page to put this on in my example I'll use my homepage so that it's in that immediate view of a user when they log in and then the widget is just a determinant of where on the page I would like to put it notice here I can preview the banner and how it will look on the portal I'm satisfied with the view of it so I'll switch back and identify an audience this is where I can use my employee data attributes in the system to define a specific audience to see this maybe only employees in California or manager employees so audiences give you the power to decide who will view this content and our last step is simply to indicate will this Banner always be active or for a specific duration so we've completed our example of how to create a banner let's recap and start to wrap up thank you so much for the a time today where we had a chance to review actionable banners in employee Center Pro and we showed some examples of how these banners can help Drive Employee Engagement and action we also talked a little bit about the ability to Target this content to specific audiences as well as schedule this information these banners can be scheduled individually or part of a campaign wherein other types of content might follow as well as part of a broader communication initiative here are some links that might be helpful for you to learn more about this functionality and I certainly hope you're able to take advantage of this functionality in your portal in the near future thank you for the time [Music]
