SOW | Resolve shift gaps and conflicts
The Service Operations Workspace schedule page helps you resolve gaps and conflicts in a shift schedule. These features help you manage your team effectively. I'm Ananya, manager of the hardware team. Here's my team's schedule. I can see gaps and conflicts here in the required actions panel. Gaps in the schedule often occur due to absences. Here's a request for absence from Diego as his manager. I can approve or reject his request. I'll approve it. And now the absence is scheduled. But now Diego's absence leaves a gap in the shift. So I'll find someone to provide coverage for him. Service operations workspace suggests Alejandro, based on his working hours. But Long offered to cover this shift, so I'll choose him instead. The start and end times for the shift are pre-filled, so I'll just schedule coverage. Now, Long is scheduled to fill Diego's absence. I can also schedule extra time for a shift to cover a special need. We have a big project on Friday evening, so I'll schedule two extra hours at the end of Friday's shift. I'll click working hours and choose Schedule Extra Time. The start of the extra time is pre-filled using the end of the regular shift. I'll extend the shift by two hours and schedule. Now my two agents are scheduled for the extra time. I can also see a conflict in the schedule. Diego is scheduled as both the primary and secondary agent for the same shift. Just like before. I'll provide coverage by another agent to fill one of Diego’s spots. I'll cover the primary level, and I'll choose Delilah as our agent. When I schedule coverage, Delilah replaces Diego for primary coverage. As a manager, I can go back and change scheduled coverage or absences at any time. Service Operations workspace helps me resolve the gap and conflict in our schedule quickly and easily.
