Employee Center Academy: Mega Menu Configurations
the session for employee Center Academy this is part of live on service now series of events and uh this is SMY Gupta outborn product manager with unified employee experience team so um like uh I've already said um we do these Academy sessions every month and uh we cover a feature Deep dive um for each of our employee Center and pro capabilities uh previously we have done sessions on U multiphase deployment strategies employee news employee profile curated experiences design techniques for um EC deployment and so on you could find the link on your uh screens right now uh to revisit any of these sessions so ground rules for today's sessions um these sessions are for you to interact please feel free uh to drop your questions in the Q&A panel um we have um experts monitoring the Q&A panel and uh we'll try to uh answer and resolve your queries um as soon as possible and please feel free to use the chat panel uh to drop in your comments or feedback or any other suggestions this session is being recorded and the session recording and slide deck will be available on community the SLA is typically 7 to 10 days U so is that we'll update the same page uh with uh all these session details so the topic for today is Mega menu configurations and um as I've already introduced myself I am outbound product manager with unified employee experience team and um um Puja Gupta will be co-hosting with me this session she's a senior manager outban product manager M with unified employe experience team I'm sure um all of you must have met her on several occasions the agenda that we'll be covering today is uh we'll be uh covering a introduction to employe Center header and mega menu um then uh we'll be advancing into advanced portal navigation um we'll be understanding what it is how it is beneficial for your mega mini configurations and we'll be continuing the conversation with uh a live demo so um I'll showcase it on my own personal instance um how you can configure various manyu options for your instance and um we'll be taking up Q&A um throughout the session so uh please feel free to post your questions in the Q&A panel let's move on to the introduction so uh when we think of employee Center menu in general it is um intended to organize all the resources and information accessible by an end user on the portal in a visually appealing format that optimizes the browse experience by making navigation intuitive so um employee Center menu comprises of two elements first is the um employee Center Global header the black bar on the top that you see in the image it highlights all profile specific menu items such as my task my request favorites user profile um and more and this is quite configurable and additional Menus can be added here such as wish list my service or any other menu that may be required the second is the Mega menu of the blue bar uh below this uh this displays all the topics and child topics that the user has access to it can display several different menu items such as as taxonomy topics or portal Pages or catalog items or knowledge articles or even external links this is again easily configurable and whatever information architecture is suitable for your organization it can be configured here in this whole session we'll be talking about how to do that this image here highlights what our outof the Box EC Pro Mega menu looks like and uh one thing to call out here is that U no additional licenses or plugins are required for configuring the mega menu all the configuration options that will be talking about uh throughout the session it comes bundled with both employee Center and uh employee Center Pro packages with the November 23 store upgrade or above so the out of the box um e Pro Mega menu that is displayed here that's available with November uh 2023 store upgrade or above so uh there are three basic building blogs that can help you achieve the kind of menu experience that I just showcased to you the first is the employee Center menu it is the service portal menu record associated with the employee Center Pro portal uh employee Center portal sorry so um you can add different kinds of menu items such as uh you could add a portal page as one of the menu for example a chart um is a a portal page that you can add as a menu item or you could have a catalog item as one of the menus or even the entire catalog or a knowledge base or even a knowledge article and you can even create a menu item pointing to an external link so these menu items can have a defined hierarchy in terms of parent menu and child menu right so uh second is taxonomy topics so a taxonomy is a collection of hierarchal topics for example within employee tonomy you could have it as one of the root topics and then under it you could have Hardware as one of the child topics um and even further you could you could have another child topic called printer and so on so basically uh your built a hierarchy there it Hardware printer and these tonomy topics have different content types that can be mapped to it such as requests and articles and so on this again can have hierarchies defined in terms of parent or root topic and child topic and we can display up to three levels of active tonomy topics on the mega menu for which we have content mapped to it one interesting thing is once you have defined a tonomy topic that is active and that has a content maap to it um it automatically displays um onto the employee Center menu right then third is the advanced portal navigation which is a separate configuration within employee Center and um it helps you in designing and configuring a better information architecture for for the Mega menu and makes the navigation more intuitive so um Advanced portal navigation provides you uh you or the portal edms much more flexibility in terms of intermixing these employee Center menus with tonomy topics so um you could think of different permutations and combinations here um you can have uh an employee Center menu cascaded under one of the tonomy hierarchy or displayed tonomy topic under an employee Center menu or even configure the order in which these menus are displayed and all of these uh building block together help you in forming the optimal browse experience that was just displayed in the last slide Puja uh do you have anything to add here now uh just keep in mind that these are the three things so you kind of have to configure all three of these pieces to build your mega menu and in the demo and when we will walk through this session we will tell you how each of these is done so just keep this in mind moving on um I'll uh just talk a little bit more about Advanced portal navigation since uh it's a fairly um new configuration option or capability that we have added uh so um it might help others uh to understand the benefits around it um Advanced portal navigation basically uh provides greater flexibility to the admins in designing an intuitive navigation so um anybody who has uh tried um configuring the uh menu without advanced portal navigation they would be aware about the constraints Associated right so with Advanced portal navigation you could uh Club similar menus under a common umbrella item and move around um different menus in a fashion that makes sense for your organization so for example I might have an employee Center menu that basically points to an external link and I might want to uh put it under one of the tonomy topics or I um might want to put a a service portal page um as one of the employee Center menus and put it uh uh in one of the taxonomy hierarchies or put it separately and Define a separate order right and uh you could prioritize any of the menus that should be displayed first so independent of the caveat whether it is a taxonomy topic or an employee Center menu and you could better organize and structure your information architecture for example um in this image we have clubbed all different departmental taxonomy topics such as human resources and Technology services and workplace under an umbrella term help center this gives me a cleaner look thus uh preventing cluttered Mega menus and reducing chances of hamburger view menu so in smaller screens or when you have several menu items populated on the mega menu um you kind of switch to the hamburger View and that's not a very intuitive experience or optimal experience that you would want for your end users and uh with the advanced portal navigation um you're better organizing your overall information architecture thus reducing your chances of hamburger View so um let's discuss various configuration options that are available with Advanced portal navigation First is uh you have an ability to display relevant content upfront by allowing U intermixing of taxonomy topics and employee Center menus and you can deign uh decide the relevant priority order as well just to highlight here uh the employee Center Pro Mega menu displays a mixed hierarchy with defined priority order so uh in this image uh you can see um about us is an employee Center menu that I have put to up up front and then I have health center and all the other tonomy topics right so I can kind of uh move um menu items around and decide in what order I want them to be uh visible then um you can organize the mega menu in three different uh modes or forms first is the four level um Extended mode right so it displays the hierarchy in four different levels so you can see the root level and then three uh child levels under that then uh we have the three level standard mode so this is the standard mode uh where you have all the topics up front and it's just a three level hierarchy right then um you can have a modal form visible so u in this image I have put a get support viset in form of a a modal the third configuration option is U you can change change emphasis on any of the menu items by aligning it uh left or right so um here I have uh aligned the get support uh menu uh towards the right hand side to probably Place more emphasis on it in terms of any support is required for the end user right this is again uh to influence the navigation habits of uh the users then um another um basic but important uh configuration option available with Advanced portal navigation is you could change the uh display text for the browse button previously um it was uh written as browse all and it was not uh easily configurable but with Advanced portal navigation you can change uh this browse uh all text to browse technology services or browse human resources and so on so um before I jump onto the demo one thing I wanted to call out is um in case you're looking to understand uh uh further how to design tonomy for your organization or how to configure uh a new tonomy topic right all of these details we have covered uh in various resources and posted on um employee center community so um we are sharing the link on your screens right now it covers a detailed Academy session and a a short feature demo highlighting um how you can uh design tonomy for your organization and how you can Define new tonomy topics and uh connect relevant content to that taxonomy topic so we won't be uh covering those details in this particular session or demo uh you could probably revisit this link um after the session ends so um let's move on to the demo for uh configuring the employees Center Mega menu right so um I hope Puja uh we can see my browser screen yes you're good awesome so uh this is an employee Center Pro instance on uh one of my uh personal environments and uh we have the global header at the top uh this is the black bar it displays uh profile specific items such as my request my task my favorites employee profile and so on and then here's the employee Center Mega menu since uh this is the employee Center Pro portal so you'll see a lot of options or menu items uh very specific to the employee Center Pro portal right and um you can see um the menu currently is fairly cluttered I have the outof the Box employee tonomy enabled on this instance and uh thus you can see all the taxonomy hierarchy such as human resources and Technology Services workplace Services Legal Services um enabled here right so um talking about the taxonomy um this is the outof thebox employed taxonomy that is active on my instance and uh you can see I have uh uh multiple uh root topics or taxonomy topics configured here um Human Resources technology Services workplace Services risk and compliance Legal Services um all of these tonomy topics which are active and which have content attached or connected to that or mapped to that will be uh visible to me on the front end portal so each of these root topics have further uh child topics uh populated as per the configured taxonomy so for example technology Services have Hardware software Network privacy and security it for it developer services and we have built out the complete hierarchy so each of these child topics will have further child topics as required right so um the order that uh you see here it is defined by this order tab so uh whatever order I have defined for all these topics um in that particular order I can see my uh menu items here right as you can see uh this is the human resources uh it is one of the taxonomy topic and uh three levels of of that tonomy hierarchy is visible along with quick links so this is the root or the parent level then these are all the child level first level child level second level um and so on right and then uh we have the browse button that says browse all then um we also have employee Center menus um and uh uh such as Health Center and auction chart and support and new center right so all of these are employee Center menu items and location directory and um all of these menu items can be configured they all set within the employee Center menu under the uh service portal record so um under the service portal we have portals once I click here I see the employees Center uh record once I click here I can navigate to the employee Center menu and this is where I have configured um all the employee Center menus that I was just showcasing right uh you have the or chart the location directory new center and so on again um all of these uh whatever is active U and accessible to me will be displayed up front on the portal and um again um I can can Define the order in which they need to be visible right and um this also has uh um hierarchy defined so uh within first level or the root level I can have child topics and so on then um there are certain limitations with working with mega menu like this such as um first uh for banga menu one thing to note here is that tonomy tonomy topics always comes before the menu items so all of these tonomy topics they always come before the menu items and menu items always come after the tonomy right um that's why you will see the entire parent level taxonomy is coming first before the menu items second limitation is uh from an employee experience perspective as um it is quite visible this menu is very cluttered there's a mixture of different things going on here and there's no easy way to control the hierarchy right because the employee Center menus are sitting in a different table then then the tonomy topics are defined by the tonomy module in a different table so there's no easy way to control the hierarchy and the third limitation is if you access this kind of cluttered Mega menu on a smaller screen it collapses into a hamburger menu so uh for example uh if I've zoomed into just 10 person you can see the hamburger menu all the menu items have collapsed into a hamburger menu and this is not the kind of um intuitive experience that we expect for our end users right so um in case you're working out of a smaller screen um it is not a very great experience now to improve the experience let's say uh we designed a new information architecture right and uh this is how um I want to U kind of uh configure uh my or organize my mega menu this is the information architecture that I've defined and um all of this can be uh done via the advanced portal navigation so in this um information architecture I can see the help center so all the text tonomy items human resource technology Services workplace Services Legal Services all of it are clubbed under a single umbrella item then I have several other employee Center menus such as about company values and Mission career location directory or chart and then certain items under your team and news insights and then um finally service now support right so um for this let me go back to my uh service portal menu records so as I've already stated um I can Define all my employee Center menus here and um just uh for the ease of this uh demo um I have already configured a few of these uh um employee Center menus here I'll just go ahead and make these as active so um you could uh click on to any of these records and um make it as active and um um see the hierarchy so I have another child topic configured uh with this topic right and then um I have uh another menu item configured here I'll just go ahead and make it active I think we are good here um after that uh let me uh move on to um Advanced portal navigation tab so um right now um you can see Advanced portal navigation is deactivated um I have already configured uh some of the records here so um let me just uh go ahead and Mark it as active so you can see um various menu items have been populated in this particular Advanced portal navigation record and uh you can see the source whether it's a service portal menu or an employee Center menu or it's a taxonomy topic right you can check whether this topic is active what is the defined order the order in which it will be visible on the portal right and um other details so let me just go ahead and click on um any of the menu items here so for example I'm talking about health center so um it's a service portal menu right and um the menu item that it is configured against is Health Center I can Define the order in which I want this to be appeared on the portal I can um define whether it has to be a menu item or a modal window right I can um define whether it has to be Define uh displayed in an expanded format or a standard format then I can also uh define whether I want to display a browse button against this menu item or not and in case I want the browse button what should be the display text for this then I can Define the position in which I want to place this menu item whether it has to be right aligned or left aligned then um I can add all these different menu items as its child topics and Define the proper hierarchy right um once youve done that uh please note that uh you're creating your menu items in the um employee Center menu record and uh you're creating your tonomy topics in your tonomy module you're not creating any menu items there you're just just pulling in those menu items into the advanced photo navigation record for pulling in those menu items I can simply click on sync hierarchy here so this brings in any of the newly added topics or menu items I can just go ahead and sync it uh I can see the notification uh the Sync has been done and in case I have additional uh child topics configured I can just go ahead and click on syn Archy so that all my uh child topics are synced properly right so um once I've done that let me just um go ahead and check the status for my upgraded portal this looks much much better so I can see um I have about company configured this is an employee CER menu or the service portal menu I can see the values and Mission um I can see the carer location directory and a chart um one thing to not is this is a service portal menu or an employee Center menu and this is coming before the tonomy topic so this is helpful then I have the complete four level hierarchy of taxonomy configured here um around the world U it's pointing to an external link right so um uh uh it's a good thing that I can intermix the service portal menus and employees Center tonomy uh topics so um I can Define in any hierarchy I can place any of these service portal menus here right then uh this is the out of the box configuration for your team then news insights so it's another service portal page um for the news center that's for the employee news experience and uh this is um one of the external links that I've configured right um on the extreme right I can see the service now support so this is again the get support viget and um it's configured in a modal form so um all uh uh going great so far once I've configured everything this is uh what I've achieved however in case um I Chang my mind and I don't want to continue with the the advanced portal navigation I can simply deactivate it and all of my menus will go back to how it was how we were displaying it previously so uh moving back to my slide deck um just uh some best practice guidelines here on how to design the mega menu for your portal before I proceed with that um Puja would you like to um add anything or highlight anything or address any of the questions um we'll go back to the demo because there are a couple of questions which um um can be addressed on the demo but feel free to cover this slide and then we can go oh okay sure we can go back to the demo okay so if you go to the advanced portal navigation I just want to call out a couple of things that people were confused confused about just go on the main search for advanced portal navigation yeah so there was a question on why there are three records over here you can have as many records as you want these are just like you know different configurations that you probably have been creating or playing around with as you were designing the advanced portal navigation look for the one that which is active and you you can technically only have one active and once you have that active you click on that active record the true to open it up so some of the questions have been around hey I changed the tonomy um and I assigned the new tonomy but I don't see my updates one of the possibilities is that you know there are three elements now that is defining what is your mega menu um showing up so if you just change the tonomy module but you don't change the advanced portal navigation and you have advanced portal navigation active then there is a disconnect the the portal will always prioritize what is inside the advanced portal navigation so when you make a tonomy like when you're are building a new tonomy there are three checks you have to make first is your tonomy is active the new one second the new tonomy is assigned to employee Center and third Advanced portal navigation has the right tonomy that is being picked up so if you would see the menu title and the tonomy field over here uh make sure the new tonomy is what is being picked up otherwise that will not show up on your portal so that was one call out um and then um the other thing was can we have four levels of tonomy topic uh to be visible so as you saw in the in the front end for the Mega menu you can have four levels now the way Mega menu is populated it is um it is picking up the menu items that you have defined in employee Center menu and also tonomy now how does tonomy show up we have automatically made the top three levels of the tonomy appear as manyu items so we have kind of like in the back end made them a menu item so even when you're using it trans portal navigation automatically only the top three levels are available for your hierarchy you can Define whatever hierarchy you want over there but only top three levels are available if you want the fourth level you literally have to go to employee Center menu create a new menu item and make it a URL type and pick the URL for the top the fourth level topic page put it over there and then the fourth level topic page will now be available able as a menu item um hopefully that made sense and if you have time later on we can demo it briefly but uh uh if there are questions feel free to post then the other question that we've been getting a lot on the chat is license so everything that you see over here is available with employee Center and employee Center Pro there is no difference in the advanced portal navigation configurations that are available uh with employee Center or employee Center Pro or itsm standard or itm stand uh Pro any of the licenses you get this with employee Center as a platform capability now where the difference is the for employee Center Pro we have pre-built an advanced portal navigation which kind of has that help center menu and we've kind of built an outof boox information architecture and shipped it that's just the data in sitting inside the advanced portal navigation the demo data um it is the configurations are not different in employ Center Pro it's just that we have pre-built the advanced portal navigation or the information architecture hope that makes sense um we'll keep taking questions and um um SMY you can continue with your uh uh presentation um hopefully these clarifications will help sure awesome so um once um um you have configured um your mega menu there are a lot of uh best practice guidelines that uh uh we would like to share here uh this is basically to um make your process more smoother more seamless and uh um make it easy for you to design your mega menu right first um you need to design your information architecture so the information architecture that I was showcasing during the demo you need to have some kind of structure in place of what are the different menus that uh you want to display um on your portal and how do you want to uh Cascade or what is the hierarchy that you want to form this would um obviously include uh building uh your out of the box U your own um employ organization specific taxonomy right uh basically you need to define the vision for your navigation experience right and uh with that Vision you need to align all your portal stakeholders together so uh What uh topics or what taxonomy topics would go in for HR side or what would go from technology Services side so all those uh decisions need to be made um in um um in agreement with your portal stakeholders and once you have finalized the tonomy you uh can validate that via uh user research so if the information architecture that you have finalized it makes sense for your end users or not are they able to figure out uh uh where to go for uh what task or what information is available under what menu do they understand uh what your um menus or information architecture means is it intuitive enough for them so um this would give you idea of um how to iteratively improve your information architecture and um this needs to be done um with a view of different constraints that we have or as of now with the mega menu configurations and advanced portal navigation in general so um for example Puja was just highlighting that you can display three levels of taxonomy topics up front or two levels of service uh portal topics up front so you need to keep those constraints in mind while designing your information architecture right to avoid um any kind of Deadlock further then um the second step is uh uh doing the actual groundwork of configuring the mega menu um you need to Define your menu items within the U service portal um menu record or the employee Center menu record you need to ensure all your menu items are active and all your tonomy topics have relevant content mapped or connected uh with it right one once you have defined all these different menu items you can configure the hierarchy and the priority order via the advanced portal navigation module and while you are doing that uh you need to make sure that uh the menu items are marked as active in both uh the EC header record and the advanced portal navigation module for it to be actually visible uh then um third uh best practice that we would like to highlight is um it's absolutely um recommended and helpful to periodically revisit your information architecture so um the expectation is not just to dump different uh features and capabilities in form of um different added menus onto your end users um in the portal but to um evaluate which of these Mega uh which of these menu options make sense um on the root level which of these must be clubbed under any of the existing umbrella topics and kind of evolve your information architecture uh based on those changes as well as any of the user feedback that you have been collecting so um this iterative Improvement helps keep your mega menu and information architecture up to date and um easy to understand for your end user um finally I uh will be talking about a couple of U um things to keep in mind or how to troubleshoot uh the different uh scenarios that you may be coming across um first thing to call out here is um um Advanced P of navigation is only available um as a capability it's only available with February 2023 release and above and uh the out of the box um um EC Pro or EC information architecture that we have showcased um it's available with November 2023 store release and above right um one thing that uh um most organizations um have asked multiple times can I configure my mega menu without advanced portal navigation the short answer is absolutely yes the the longer answer is um you can configure uh your mega menu without advanced portal navigation but uh you would not be able to leverage all the different benefits that we have highlighted for advanced portal navigation for example you would not be able to intermix your tonomy topics and employee cender menus you would not be able to Define different hierarchies or the priority order or left or right align those menu items um for whatever menu item you want want to lay emphasis on so all these flexibility would not be available to you um but yes you can configure it without Mega menu can I skip creating tonomy structure with Advanced portal navigation so like I've already highlighted uh tonomy employee enter menu and advanced portal navigation are three different building blocks for configuring your mega menu and um one does not uh work without the other like if you want to have the optimal experience you uh cannot sorry you uh cannot uh work with a mega menu configuration without defining a Texon structure right you need to Define and activate a tonomy for your portal and then um use uh other non- tonomy menu items to highlight other items such as service portal Pages or external links and so on and advanced portal navigation is just uh to reorder or uh configure the hierarchy or priority of these menu items right in case you do not have a tonomy defined you would not have tonomy menu items accessible and a lot of other experiences would not be available to you for example topic Pages or popular items or topics and so on then um another thing to highlight is um you can U fetch only three levels of taxonomy topics just like Puja has highlighted right now and only two levels of service portal topics uh within Advanced portal navigation and uh these can be intermixed right so for example um on the um root level we have technology Services then the child level we have Hardware um and then the second level we have uh uh sorry the child level we have it and the second level we have Hardware I can uh put in any of the employee Center menus for example new center or organization chart any of the service portable menu or employee Center menu within that hierarchy so that intermixing is allowed um just uh keep keep in mind that you can only fetch three levels of taxonomy topics and only two levels of service portal topics right um so um in case you have defined a tonomy and in case you have defined um employee Center menu record and it is not visible on the um portal or the front end experience what can you do to troubleshoot you need to make sure that uh the menu record is marked as active at both places both um in the advanced portal navigation as well as wherever it was created the employ enter menu uh record or the tonomy module so you need to mark it as active at both places if it is a taxonomy topic you need to have connected content associated with it right and the end user for which you're testing they need to have access to that tonomy topic and then um once you have uh uh trouble shooted all these scenarios or checked all these scenarios you need to ensure that uh your Advanced portal navigation is synced with your Define Hier hierarchy so uh you need to click the sync hierarchy button to kind of bring in your changes both at the root level and at the child level right so uh we have posted all these FAQ questions on our community post and uh we'll be sharing a link to that shortly please feel free to access it post this session and in case you're still facing any issues or you want to discuss any of the particular scenarios for the product and engineering team um you are always welcome to join our employee Center deployment officers we posting a link to that um in the chat shortly um Smithy before you go ahead and do the takeaways can you just show the demo again I just want to call out people uh and just get back to the mega menu sure so just go to the front end um can you highlight where the um taxonomy is intermed with the um with the menu items because I think people miss that a little sure so for example human resource is a tonomy topic we have all the different child topics of associated uh with it so this is the U uh level one this is level two and this is the third level of tonomy topics and I can see um around the world topic here so um it is the employee Center menu or the service portal menu record and once I click on it um it redirects me to an external link right so this way you can configure or intermix all the uh service portal menu items with your tonomy topics can you go to the menu and show the around the world menu configuration and also on Advanced portal navigation on how we did that so uh this is the around the world uh um employee Center menu item it's an external URL it's pointing to an external link right when I uh go back to my Advanced portal navigation I can see um under Health Center under Human Resources I have this uh configured as a menu item around the world it's marked as true and it's a service portal menu if I wanted to go ahead and add another service portal menu record here I can just go ahead pick any of the service portal menu record here for example I'll just go ahead and pick as o chart right and click submit so so I can just uh refresh and see under Human Resources I can see the or chart so this is the way that you would add any menu item at any level you would just go to that level and add a new it could be a tonomy item or it could be um a menu item that you add over there um just to reiterate this point I can probably go ahead and um add a service portal menu item at any of the other levels for example um let me go to technology services and Hardware right click on new select any of the menu items so for example um let me just pick career right so it should be under technology Services Hardware I'll just go ahead and refresh you can see career is um there I hope that answers your question so yeah it it does and can you also show how the menu items are being added in advanced portal navigation and I folks I understand it can be confusing so I'm just putting a link to our deployment office hour we can continue this conversation um over there um but just show them Advanced portal navigation and just reiterate how we are getting the menu items over there so first step is getting it get create a menu item you don't have a menu item you can't create you you won't see anything in advanced portal navigation and from there you get to Advanced portal navigation and then sync the hierarchy to see it let me just U go ahead and configure a new menu item here so for example um just give me a second so for example um I'm looking to uh create a menu item so I can just uh click new and go ahead for creating um any of the menu items right uh for example uh and um put it as a external URL uh just uh give it any URL and uh click submit right um while you are creating this menu item U make sure that it's marked as true then I move to my Advanced portal navigation module and wherever I need to configure uh my uh menu item I'll just go ahead and configure that first I need to sync hierarchy so um this is pulled in technology challenges as one of the service portal menus um since I do not want to display it at this level uh it is marked as false let me just go ahead and click on help center under help center I'll just click on technology services and um add my menu item here so make sure that you're in the correct scope so I'm inside head Center Technology Services I'll just go ahead click on new and uh pick the menu item that I've just created technology challenges ensure that it's marked as active Define whatever order I want to display it so for example um I'll just go ahead and Mark it as order 200 click submit right um just on the safe side click update here refresh the front end view now under Help Center Technology Services I can see technology challenges marked here can you also show how the tonomy is being added yes so um for example um under Human Resources I would like to add a new menu item U tonomy topic I can click on tonomy as the source and uh pick the topic from his here I'll pick a topic uh time cards for example um ensure it is active click submit human resource time cards it's active I hope we have content connected to that we probably don't have um content connected to that let me just go ahead and uh pick some other topic compensation for example I'm actually um I should pick a topic where it would be prominently visible so let me just go back to technology Services click new select tonomy select topic so one thing you have um noted here uh if I have changed my tonomy hierarchy it's going to display gave me all the topics for that hierarchy itself so I cannot intermix two techn uh two techonomy hierarchies right so I'll just go ahead select computers and U click active right I see computers right here so this way you can add a tonomy topic up to three levels here if I want to uh further uh intermx it let me just go ahead and place it under any of the service portal menus so for example one of the uh menu item I had is um news insights right I can just uh go ahead select tonomy click computers here click submit I can see the tonomy topic under a service portal menu so this way I can interix the tonomy topic and the service portal topics
