What are Impact TuneUp Accelerators?
ServiceNow Impact gives you the insights, tools, and support you need to maximize the value you get out of your ServiceNow solution, and it allows you to realize that value more quickly. Impact Accelerators are one of the key ways it does this. Accelerators are fixed-scope services engagements that target specific areas of your ServiceNow journey, letting you accelerate benefits. There are three types of accelerators, including Strategy Accelerators, Architecture Accelerators, and Technical Accelerators.
Today, we’re going to look at a specific kind of Technical Accelerator, a TuneUp Accelerator.
What Is a TuneUp Accelerator?
It’s an Impact Accelerator that improves the performance and health of a ServiceNow capability that you’ve already implemented. This helps you to get the most out of that capability and helps to ensure that it’s running smoothly. For example, if you have implemented ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM), you can request the TuneUp Your Hardware Asset Management Accelerator to improve itself and optimize the value that you’re getting out of HAM.
Each TuneUp Accelerator typically includes:
- A temporary instance. This is set up by ServiceNow and is a copy of a backup of your selected environment.
- An assessment of your current implementation, which is carried out by ServiceNow experts. For example, they may use HealthScan to collect health information for the targeted capability and then analyze the results to identify areas for improvement.
- A coaching session where you will receive:
- An overview of the feature or capability, along with an applied demo where appropriate.
- A review of the results of the analysis, along with recommended actions to improve the health and performance of the capability.
- Pointers to leading practices and other relevant content for optimizing health and performance.
- An optional follow-on coaching session where you can ask further questions and get additional guidance.
Note that the actual content may vary depending on the specific TuneUp Accelerator.
What TuneUp Accelerators are available?
There are currently more than a dozen TuneUp Accelerators available, and the number is growing every ServiceNow release. You can find a full list here. Here are a few examples:
- The TuneUp Your Configuration Management Database Accelerator gives you insights and guidance to improve the health of your CMDB. ServiceNow experts will use HealthScan to identify common problem areas and deficiencies in your CMDB, and will provide recommendations on how to address these issues, along with a CMDB scorecard. This helps you to improve the data foundation for your ServiceNow instance, ultimately enhancing all of the ServiceNow capabilities that use your CMDB.
- The TuneUp Your AI Search Accelerator provides guidance on how to fine-tune your AI Search to enhance its performance and value. ServiceNow experts will carry out an assessment of your current AI Search architecture and configuration and give you prescriptive guidance on how to optimize performance, deliver more relevant search results, and improve the end-user experience. You also get an overview of how to use AI Search analytics as well as pointers to AI Search architecture and configuration leading practices.
- The TuneUp Your ITOM Discovery Accelerator gives you guidance on how to improve the health of your CMDB by optimizing ITOM Discovery. ServiceNow experts will use HealthScan to assess your current ITOM Discovery implementation, identifying the three top problem areas or deficiencies. They’ll give you recommended actions to address these issues, as well as pointers to leading practices and an overview of the importance of maintaining ITOM Discovery and CMDB health.
Also note that you may receive recommendations in the Impact IDE for relevant TuneUp Accelerators depending on where you are in your ServiceNow journey. For example, once you have implemented ServiceNow Software Asset Management, you may subsequently receive a recommendation for the TuneUp Your Software Asset Management Accelerator.
