Bringing Your Value Together
[Music] welcome back to our listeners I'm your host John Lim and this is the Enterprise agility podcast we welcome our experts F Champlain and Andy Jordan back one more time to close out our series on value stream management take it away Andy so we've talked a little bit about value streams over the course of the last couple of podcasts and we finish up the last one talking about the import importance of mapping and Discovery and and understanding the value streams that actually exist within an organization but we have to be honest and say this isn't necessarily the most straightforward simple approach to to understanding the business and we need to have the right software to help us now clearly this is a service Now podcast we're going to talk about service now Solutions but Fred all promotion aside service now's platform to help Define and leverage uh value streams it's in a different League it's amazing so share with our listeners how service now is helping them to understand and then improve and optimize their value streams and and deliver the best possible performance for the organization as a whole yeah thanks Andy great to be with you again uh sure in terms of of service now and value streams we we have uh tremendous capabilities to support our customers both with their development value streams and and the support we have with u product releases and devops for example in managing flow of those value streams development value streams we also with SPM have the ability to uh manage value streams in portfolios uh so for organizations are moving to for example a product uh model going through a product transformation uh we can support customers using our lenses an SPM for example that allow us to look and and report and monitor and manage uh by value stream so we really have the the the best of of all worlds and that we can bring together the holistic picture of uh our customers who are running their businesses in other words running their their operational business uh value streams and their development value streams and we bring that picture together I think unlike any other platform and that's the key it's a platform play and and we can bring in Telemetry for example that informs our development value streams and finding uh opportunities for improvement whether it's you know in a product context we can look at where customers are are um having their experiences in terms of interacting with uh workflows for example uh and we can optimize those likewise we can also use uh service now uh Enterprise agile planning for example uh to manage and um configure our agile deliveries and our hybrid deliveries around team topologies that are aligned to the funding that that we're finding alignment of funding and our resources to our value streams our development value streams in support of our our business or operational value streams so we really have uh complete coverage if you will of both the business um aspects of value streams and run the business operate your business as well as all the development work that goes into creating those experiences for customers and even if it's a system to System of course we can accommodate that of course that's part of this as well maybe an API to API or workflow to workflow uh we really have a entire environment uh to think holistically and and to plan your business execute and manage that business um and and continually refine that to optimize to be competitive in the market and I think that that's a critical differentiator here is that we're not just allowing organizations to develop and understand their value streams we're allowing them to manage their business based on those value streams with everybody across all areas of the business having that same perspective that same view that same understanding to really sort of ensure that those silos are broken down everyone's pulling in the same direction everybody understands why work is being done and how each individual piece of work contributes and that's the joy of the the platform approach is that whether you're a technology expert whether you're a business Expert whether you're Bridging the Gap between the two you've got that same understanding and you can think about business in terms of these value streams knowing that the technology is there to support you and allow you to focus on optimizing value exactly Andy and and really we go from alignment and aligning your business uh to scaling your business uh and and getting all of that transparency uh and optimization because we really want to transform the business so if you think of service now as a business transformation platform this is the inside story around value stream management discovering your value streams and aligning to those value streams we now know and this is the driver behind the product Transformations is customer Centric products are are the the key to success in being competitive and remaining competitive from a business agility perspective so that's what we're bringing to Market we have it and customers can benefit uh by bringing their business onto uh service now uh we can use SPM to do the strategy planning the execution and critically important in in a hybrid fashion meaning we can adapt to what our customers are doing today so many customers have very large programs maybe very complex products cyber physical products for example uh in and uh components of software components of hardware um and they can bring those together as well as this isn't just about it for example it's about running your business uh so we service now certainly has support for uh uh General uh business capabilities services like HR of course and finance and we have industrial uh capabilities as well with all of our industry focus at this point so we can do any type of uh business uh value stream management and bring that together on the platform it's amazing and and I really cannot stress for our listeners just how important this is we're in an era now of continuous transformation we've had digital transformation we've had the world transformation that was driven by covid and the pandemic we're dealing now with the product transformation but in the next few years AI is going to force us to transform over and over again as the capabilities become more complex more comprehensive better understood we're going to have to be Reinventing our business to stay competitive and stay successful and if you're not thinking in terms of that business holistically if you're not thinking about your ENT High operations in terms of value streams and the flow of value through it you can never do that because you can never optimize performance I mean I think we're we're going into a really exciting time FR absolutely Andy and you have it it's it's uh great opportunities moving forward to really leverage uh service now to to run the business all right thank you so much Fred for
