let's see how to get started with application manager available starting in the Vancouver release with the next experience UI in one convenient interface administrators can search the applications available for their instance and install and update them to start we access application manager from the admin menu applications are divided into categories on the homepage making it easier to navigate the available for UT tab displays applications you're entitled to but have not yet installed on the instance the updates tab displays available updates to installed applications finally the installed tab displays all installed applications on the instance different filtering and sorting options are available within the categories filter the results of the selected tab by listing offered by product family or adoption blueprint using the filters panel on the left and you can sort the items to display by release or install date or alphabetically depending on the selected tab here we see when the application last synced with the service now store it syncs every 24 hours but you can sync it now for the latest updates let's see how the search works we can search by application or plug-in name or ID in our example we want to find something related to AI powered search we want to install this application so we click the application card to view its details on the details page we seen the summary of the application including what it does its price and its rating in the details we select from the available versions for the version We select we see release compatibility and impact key features and release notes further down the page we review the technical details such as system requirements dependencies and roles the state of the dependencies whether they are installed not installed or not licensed are displayed with these symbols in our example the dependency is already installed and is included in our license after an application is installed install and update logs will also appear here to install the application we select install at the top of the page we review the installation details and dependencies then choose whether to install now or schedule it for later for our example we'll install it now the installation progress displays here we choose to run the process in the background to come back to the installation progress later we open the activity log we can install more than one application at a time back on the homepage we search for AI search applications again and here's the one we want to install when we select install and run the process in the background we can access the activity lock again now we see the progress of the first install and that our second application is queued up to be installed next now let's review the installation details for the first application we can review the installation log the list of installed files and any customized files here's the date the application was initially installed in the update details tab we see the changes that were applied skipped or processed copies to review customized unchanged files and upgrade details the date the application was updated also displays we've seen how application manager provides one convenient interface for administrators to search for install and update applications on an instance to learn more see our product documentation or knowledge base or ask a question in the service now community
