hi my name is Jason Lefever I'm a product manager with the platform workflow automation team and today we're going to talk about process automation designer one of the questions we commonly encounter is what is the purpose of process automation designer also known as pad before I answer this question I'd like to take a step back and talk about historic configuration of workflow on the now platform so historically developers and administrators more advanced technical users had to understand the power of the platform we have all kinds of capabilities and so these personas would need to not only understand the capabilities but effectively configure within them and in order to create endtoend workflow they need to stitch together all of these capabilities into a comprehensive int workflow story that's not how we want to do things going forward so our vision is to go from this place of disconnected experiences navigating all over the platform into a more embedded experience so whenever I'm building workflow all of the additional tasks or configurations that I may need to work through in order to build my endtoend automation will come to me in a seamless experience and so the purpose of process automation designer is to provide business process owners business analysts no code developers as well as developers with a builder to digitize visualize and manage endtoend workflows across business services this is our no code way to automate processes on the now platform process automation designer is available to support any use case involving workflow on the now platform we hope you enjoy it please take advantage of the capability and we'd love to see the challenges that you unlock by using this product
