#Know24 Wrap-up with your MVPs - Live Coding Happy Hour
no [Music] oh [Music] [Laughter] that's gonna be his trademark now if you are as confused as the rest of us welcome to live coding happy hour this is the show where normally we would take a use case and try and get through it with a totally unscripted demo doing some code doing some flows doing whatever but this is our post knowledge recap W our wonderful MVPs that we have online here so we're going to go down a few things that we thought were fantabulous about knowledge 24 which concluded oh about a week ago so everybody's had a chance to get over whatever sickness we hope you got home safely and healthy and if you didn't we hope you're quickly on the menend so starting with me my name is Chuck tamasi I am a senior developer advocate here at service now been here since 2010 was a customer for a couple years before that and a long long history of tech and it and I'm not going to get into it here today so I'll turn it over to Earl hi everyone I'm Earl JK I'm also senior a senior developer advocate here at service now was in higher ed doing service now for customers for a while doing like engineering and team leading before joining here and now helping run a lot of the live streams and a lot of the content and programming within the service now developer Community hi everyone my name is TR I'm a service MVP and working at a finance company as a tech lead for seops module and yes I am all recovered from knowledge and looking forward for this session hey I'm Willam uh still recovering from knowledge a lot that came in uh so I'm just drinking a cup of coffee not doing drinks yet hi everyone my name is grower I'm a service now business process consultant service now trainer and known as learn and grow together with at thank you hey everyone Martin ianov here I'm a solution architect with a consultancy company uh Tre time MVP already hi I'm ay Anderson I'm a developer for Yono lab so I just build custom apps for different customers and partners on the platform hi this is Mark calling in from the Netherlands um I'm an independent service now consultant doing this now for a few years and uh nine time sech now mopy nine time the shirt we missed the shirt hey everyone my name is anit I'm a technical architect exenter with over eight years of experience I'm a two-time MVP and I've been a speaker at knowledge two times as well that picture that's me I'm Ash I'm multiple times MVP as well I think same like Mark 9x working as a platform owner now and architect with one of the financial institutes in Netherlands and Drew is part of the organization as well thanks why isn't the people from India knew how to emote better on that picture I it was you guys do great we gotta have a lesson somewhere oh water that's what I'm drinking I think my kidneys are still recovering from the dry weather in Vegas well So for anybody that's not watching that hasn't watched life coding happy hour before we never know who might tuned into this especially postn knowledge people heard about life coding happy hour may have been told to go check us out and they might be watching this either live or for the first time afterwards because a lot of our views come in afterwards actually thousands of views after uh but if you never have turn tuned into live coding happy hour traditionally we are trying to code something during this episode we will usually drink during it uh so we introduce ourselves and then we introduce our drinks which we'll do in a second right now uh and then we'll get into some topic but today we have all our MVPs here so we're it's a nice learning session about knowledge but we'll get into that a little bit let's introduce our drinks first wait you said water Chuck water I have a I made a double shot uh mocha caramel latte for me liquid candy I've got C Chino nice it's not service now sir I do look like anything from service now it's not like we're not representing well [Laughter] enough yeah I'm drinking coffee out of the Las Vegas MK so nice fine I'm having a ly authentic Indian drink I can say for the hot seasons and this is in the cooler specifically made by the what I can say with the Dy form kind of things to drink on the my home brew is unfortunately over so I'm drinking some average Danish sler I have a nice refreshing can of Dr Pepper nice I need to recover a bit from Las Vegas so zero mojito I'm just having a good old Merinda orange nice I'm having Indian tea very nice well thank you everybody thought we'd go around and share some of our highlights the memorable moments things that you experienced from the conference uh I think we go in the same order Earl okay um I told myself I would go first during a pre-show because I hadn't actually thought of what I wanted to say yet and I was like I'm just going to do it live and now that it's at me I realize I have thought about what I was going to say even though I told all of you that you needed to come prepared with what to say the man who did 10 things at Creator con and was up till 3:00 am can't remember a darn thing about it uh I think the main thing that I learned uh from knowledge and I wanted us to talk about what we learned so that we can keep the spirit of live coding happy hour and live learning alive um the main thing I learned this is you see how slowly I'm talking so I could try to come up with something right away you want me to go first um no I'll talk about it my the main thing I learned was how much capacity that all of our community seems to have is operating in a much higher state than I ever thought before this year this specific knowledge for some reason this knowledge it felt like every one of us on this call or and everyone in the community team everyone in the dev team everybody in marketing all of our product outbounds all of our product success everybody seemed to be operating at a much higher capacity than I've ever seen before but still having fun is I think it was the main thing because that's that's what I learned about myself was that even when I'm busy doing a million things I I was still having fun um in previous years business ramped up and it was a it was actually a little hard to have fun um during all that business at least for myself but this P this past week was a lot of fun for me and it was a lot of fun seeing how if people keep just keep that Spirit of either Community or just trying to have fun with the things that they're doing then I feel like we could do so much and not feel tired and I think I saw that in myself and a lot of you on this screen because some of you stayed up with me till midnight on that first night of knowledge uh at least two of you on the screen um plus all our teams and a lot of other MVPs that aren't on this call were there too and so seeing all that just was like really I didn't zoom in on my face like I said I would too because it's hard to I don't like I don't like zooming it on my face so I don't have to because I control the buttons Drew I'm zooming it on your face what did you learn that's shoting okay uh for knowledge uh this time I came much prepared with the queries that I want to have for my stakeholders and yes I got the answers but the thing that I learned from my personal from my personal experience is uh backstage Jitters are real and the Green Room behind knowledge main stage is it is a lot like I can feel the pressure I can see feel people preparing but people were very humble so yeah and what else uh the other thing that I learned is if you're planning to go to Death Valley just carry lots of water that is the most important bit a lot of water uh fun shout out too if you um didn't get to see truck backstage tour video it's a really fun video it's on a chuck chuck has access to the buttons to um uh uh if you haven't seen Chuck's Cole backstage tour video I've never seen the backstage until Chuck's video popped up so that like dreo ay um all of you that got to go backstage and stuff like that you all have more you all got to see a lot more stuff than um even I got to see happening on the keynote so that's really cool so that video is on this channel you can find it in the videos list on this channel and you can watch the backstage tour thanks Drew for the insights and then we I'm going down the list so yeah so what I learned uh from the community as partly the the energy I saw uh but to add to that also the creativity uh I was part of the heck for good team 170 developers chipped in uh to work on one app uh throughout story so uh they needed to be creative and they really pulled through so what we saw is an amazing app amazing energy and a lot of creativity yeah three of us are actually wearing that shirt right now so we can show off our shirts right there woo hack for good so awesome job with that I'm so it was really cool seeing you up there just like running things scrambling getting things organized it was really cool to see you so active on the stage floor so thank you for putting that back on and let me read oh now we're all out of order uh oh gonna do uh there we go I'm going down the list okay so for me what I learned again from the knowledge 24 is that participation this was my second year in the knowledge and I participated in heathan um and definitely we did not make it this time I did not make it to the finalist our team did not make it to the finalist but still we are on the honorable mention that was the first point second I learned that I we have to be learned the pressure as well it was very late in the night first night on on the knowledge part we are getting late for our videos recording it's stuck it cut and all the things will be there second part which I like or which I learn is that how you can engage your online people as well this is the first time we saw in the knowledge that we are doing partip haathon and every team is coming on live taking the or giving the introduction about the team their plan and the things as well something new which we see that okay online on offline how we can Cate together this is the one thing which I learned and third thing which I I'll take one more time is the music in the last key note of the Nick there's a person came from the who is the Grammy Award winner he play a very very soft piano and this is what I learned that if you are in the technology definitely music or art is one of the thing which can make you happy with that particular part so that day was completely full of happiness because we see or we we watch that PD or we um listen that music if you're happy clap your hands thank you yeah I didn't I didn't get to see it live but everyone I saw it afterwards and everyone was talking about John P and how incredible it was correct correct and then next on the list there go yeah something I learned especially when it comes to the to the personal point of view is that um being an MVP and having this title is not just the title itself and that's over uh what I'm talking about is an award that I got on the MVP dinner which meant a lot for me because it came in in a moment where I'm down uh on my on my you know uh participation in the community feeling a little bit useless but still these guys who nominated me reminded me that I'm part of a group and we are here to support each other and I'm really happy about that Martin you deserve it and uh you had the great nominee but we also it's a full reviewing party decided to make sure that you got that so it's not just the nominee you deserved it buddy I thank you and let me all the shout outs to you in the chat too let me display that for you there you go and next um let's see at knowledge I think one of the things that I learned was that I'm capable of functioning on No Sleep which may sound like a joke but is actually a good thing for me to know I'm one of those people who's always stressed about getting enough sleep and I think being able to push myself to the limits like said um was eye opening to me to see how well I'm able to function in that mode I mean I'm still fighting a cold you can probably hear it but it was worth it for every you know every event that I got to participate in and then I also just want to say too that it was really cool to see like just the different perspectives and the different ways that people used the platform to solve their problems and there were just so many different perspectives that I was able to learn from from knowledge and I'm excited to go back and apply some of those different perspectives to my own work so that's what I would learn that's what I would say I learned hash [Laughter] y uh what did I learn uh well a goal was doing a speaking session with multiple people uh and we actually did that with four MVPs at the same time so it was uh it was quite interesting and it worked uh very well um yeah and just personally learning to maneuver better better as an introvert in in such events uh I'm used to crowds of thousands of people um but not where so many people are jumping right at you um yeah and obviously just a ton of new Sur now Stu nice and everyone keeps look at all those Awards behind you and going down the list thanks I think there was just so much of knowledge this year and I won't even say the J word because I think somebody mentioned that on the slack channel that if somebody says jni or AI they'll be having a lot of shots so but again uh I think there was so much to learn from the Keynotes uh the session from fellow MVPs and meeting so many likeminded people and also getting a selfie with Chuck um I think that was a key key thing for me uh but again there was so much to I think apart from that there was so much else to learn from the Expo uh as well but for me the best thing was the creaton keynote because I personally relate to the developers problems and I feel uh they've all been heard with the new releases that are coming up with all the way from creat Creator Studio to flow is now being acting as a code I think that's a really key one for developers who have been working with multiple pipelines uh I think uh I think this this is the best thing for them um lastly I would actually like to thank the whole Community team for making me this miniature logo uh sorry miniature Lego it's that's in the blue suit I always wear the blue suit it's got a nice little turban as well so I really love this part as well thank you yeah um for those who attended uh Creator con at knowledge you had the opportunity to build a LEGO minifig if you kind of participated in some of our activities uh and or posted on the community that 1,000 comment Long blog post uh but for our MVP specifically our MVP experts team so led by Sarah um with Selena and tany had uh known that they we were going to do this little Lego minifig thing but what they wanted to do for the MVPs and what and one of the things that they are very proud to put on for the MVPs because it's our again very small little ways that we want to thank you over the years U including that dinner and the little giveaways we get but one of the things that they made was actual MVP mini figs of all the MVPs so everyone yeah so um much more custom so you all have the much more custom versions of the mini figs than anybody else has at the at Creator conon uh and it was I thought that was a great thing that they did organizing that before the dinner was a lot harder than you all realized trying to run around the room figuring out who gets what size shirts who gets the um where where is the mini figs and where you're all sitting and trying to put it at there what size t-shirt yep um we have on our our retrospective we have notes of like we probably should have done some of these things before this evening but it's fine and then um for this round table of what we learned at knowledge we're gonna uh end it with Ash OH and then sh yeah so what I learned is mainly about I would like to highlight product advisory Council the pack was full of information uh as a platform order now I get more insights what needs to be planned the future attending pack which is a privilege to you get building knowledge as well uh and I don't know if you guys saw but the iot garden was one of the interesting part uh which I like the most so cool during this knowled it was awesome um and the last thing is of course the sessions from the fellow MVPs and the rap from you uh so I would say you should do it here um it's a were you were you at that session yeah you where I remember yeah we just entered o that was a fun it's actually available on the knowledge uh digital experience right now so it AOS is talking about some of the sessions that uh were pre-recorded before knowledge so that people that weren't attending knowledge could watch via digital experience or if you were at knowledge and needed to review something afterwards you can go online to see it some of the the some of the theater uh sessions that happened at knowledge on the Expo floor were also recorded if you remember seeing a camera on your face some when you're most of you were on a stage at some point um some of those are being edited and posted online and I think they're actually editing more so if you don't see your session it might just be a matter of time as they finish producing and editing those things and more might pop up there but if you haven't gone to knowledge. servic now.com and logged in and checked out the catalog some new experiences are there including a 20 11 minute long rap about JavaScript that I performed live um but if you weren't there live at least you get the pre-recorded version so that's there and then let's end with chuck on this question and then we'll start talking about other stuff all right I learned that uh and this is advice to Earl it's a much more enjoyable and easier conference if you only focus on one thing I had the keynote which consumed a lot of time because we had a lot of rehearsals but it certainly made it more more enjoyable for me because I could be when I wasn't in rehearsal I could be among the people and visiting and learning and sharing and listening all that good stuff the other one was I'm GNA call it a reminder with a learning I was reminded what a wonderful Community we have uh and and this kicked off Monday night with the MVP dinner and just the the the learning part was how amazing this community is this was not you know co-workers and colleagues talking it was friends sharing whether it was a sticker or uh a temporary tattoo or something 3D printed there was there was honestly goodness hey you you should have one of these because you're in this group of friends the the MVPs just went above and beyond as I mentioned it it on on the podcast a couple days ago it transcended uh what you would normally think of as a community like this it was really something special so that was a reminder yes we have a terrific community and learned right up front and close just how wonderful that can be I think one of the things earlier you mentioned too um about like things to get done things like Chuck out the focus on the keynote and then I got to focus on a million other things but um uh another another reminder out there if you were part of Creator conon and you attended a Creator con breakout session um what we would love for you to do is go back to your Events app and or check your email for because the surveys for the Creator con breakout sessions didn't actually go live during the uh event so a lot of the surveys that were supposed to happen like a button wasn't turned on basically and none of the surveys went out for those sessions so if you attended anything that started with CCB including like the live wrapping session uh we would love for you to go and check out the events app and submit those surveys for you after the fact so if you were there intend of the session we love the feedback it helps us plan for next year a lot more so please go and check that out planning early is important we we know this internally we do our best not always as good as it should be but uh if you're watching or listening at home and you have any aspirations of presenting uh you know may I know it may sound like a scary thing at first talk to some of the people who have done it it's a great growth opportunity great career opportunity free ticket blah blah blah but start thinking of those things right now as you go through your upcoming projects in June July August September call for content is not that far away you may have experiences you've either recently got or you're going to gain you say these are the 12 things I just learned about UI builder in in the first six weeks of my learning when you jot those down along the way it becomes a snap to just pop those out into a title and abstract and submit them in the call for content if you if you're cloudy on some of this or you'd like to review some of your recent works to see if it warrants uh you know we have open Office hours to help ferment those ideas into something that's it's really powerful real quick I do want to give shout out to Phil inside of the chat right now um a lot of us are giving Phil during our MVP awards during our private MVP dinner on Monday night had the most ridiculous fun video that was projected on the screens because Phil wasn't able to attend but uh was one of the one of the people selected to be part of the MVP awards and that video was just great with the lights in the background and the record in the back so shout out to Phil we missed you we love you man hope you are doing well see you soon um one of the things I wanted to talk about uh next uh we have one thing we have two topics I want to talk about one is from the audience that just happened and then we'll do that NE after but right now some to talk tag on to something that Hern was talking about was the creator con keynote Chuck and Lauren did a great job doing that with a lot of you on the stage actually too during the MVP panel um uh and or pre-show for other Keynotes and stuff like that so thank you for participating in those but um the content that was shown at the keynote is something that I Chuck do you want to talk about like why we choose certain demos and what what what does that mean for the developer Community or the Creator community and stuff like that if you want to talk about that talk about the the the walk-in videos that you made or no no no the um the actual demos like uh about creater studio and the unified developer studio and being uh building the vs code version into service now and demonstrating flows as text like yeah I'll let you talk about it because I get so excited just talking yeah like I said this all starts months and months ahead of time about the end of January even before we got our Washington DC content out uh we started looking at what are we going to talk about for knowledge what are we going to do at that Creator conon keynote that will get developers excited and inspired and I reach out to the product teams starting at you know the AVP or SVP level and say what's coming up not necessarily in Washington Because by the time you get to May developers have had Washington for three months starting in early February it's like that's yesterday's newspaper by that time and we want to look ahead so a can we talk about zanadoo in Yokohama the answer was yes good what have we got coming out because the product teams know what's on the road map they know what's coming it's not always built though so we we often have to do some mock-ups or whatever to to make that happen and then it becomes how do we tie those things together into a story and and there was a point where we said well maybe we don't need need to because we knew we wanted to keep this short and tight we wanted quick bite-size demos not this 30 minute long running story and then Jenny comes in and she submits a you know coffee request and oh look at that you know that that doesn't work with the developers we needed short like sports highlights you don't watch the whole baseball game just to see the two Good Hits we wanted those two good hits or or in our case several Good Hits so we had a we book ended with announcements of service now studio and the IDE and then in between we told the story about building a coffee app largely with AI so it was it was very intriguing to see a how a that's a lot of letters how AI is maturing from what we released in Vancouver then some enhancements in Washington and then uh it became a really fun exercise and then when we heard the announcement about developer sandboxes I went there's our one more thing there's our mic drop moment and it was like yes finally the ability to do true collaboration on multiple branches on the same instance by De different developers I have no idea how any of this is working on the back end but it's going to be cool when it does work uh the official vote is also that Chuck is the next James Bond I saw that got the bow tie ready to go yeah apparently ADR Elba turned it down so I'm next it's overwhelmingly the votes on that poll were for Chuck to become the next James Bond uh so about the keynote um Hern started off that conversation and I would love to talk more about just like what did you what did we see at knowledge that made us excited about either the future of uh MVPs the future of of the community or the future of just service now development um admin and all that kind of stuff uh if and we're we're not going to go around the horn we can let people start talking um uh This Is Me Slowly this thing that's that that chck started with the developer studio is something that I wanted to highlight during the first round actually this is the thing that got me really excited during the the Creator on keynote and I would say that this is just not me not just me because today I made post on LinkedIn about it and it is already getting a huge struction and there is a discussion below it and what I think uh on the one hand it's great that service now is taking uh notes of the things that we the developers want but on the other hand um giving this real development experience in service now will open the door for a lot of proc coders and developers that are not currently in service now ecosystem which is great because we will bring new people into the system but these new people will also bring new knowledge in the system and the ecosystem and I think that we all will benefit from that and I agree with Martin like service now is moving in a direction where it has everything for everyone you need Pro developers you need people who have domain knowledge and empowering them in parallel is also very good and yeah I really like the way in I don't remember which keynote but from uh service now to creating a presentation that was the key highlight for me because I've been doing that for multiple times no and I I'll I'll go ahead and talk about AI a little bit more just to make um who was in the chat that's gonna get drunk off of this anyways ai ai ai ai ai um but so I like what we're talking about right now because what people I brand branding is a is interesting it's a very interesting conversation because how do we make it feel like a company is um for the people while still selling a product kind of thing that it's it's an interesting conversation um but one of the really things I think is we've been doing well and I really am happy with it um just messaging and theming and everything is how much we emphasize things are for people um when you walk into Creator con like remember the first time you all watch walked in last year and you saw your faces on the walls and this year your faces like the the cool Polaroid with people's signatures and stuff like that the the the The Branding is focused around the emphasis that service now wants to be a is wants to be for the people and as much as we talk about AI even in all of our presentations for AI it makes AI work for people and that's that's the positioning that service now wants to keep going like over and over again I kept hearing we're not subtracting the people aspect out of it even though we're diving into generative AI even though we're diving into AI in general like this is just tools for us and we we don't want to remove the people aspect for it our our company internally is diving so headed first into AI but even internally they're telling us it's it's just it's for people we're not getting rid of our people um in fact we need more people because we'll only be able to do even more cooler things if we get if we get a lot of our processes through Ai and stuff like that and I think that thought process and that feeling is throughout it was throughout knowledge and throughout Creator conon throughout um all of us um in our talks and St like that we emphasized the MVPs we emphasize the community because this is in the end for all of us so I don't know I I just like this conversation because when you go on to any of the chat communities or onto LinkedIn a lot of people are talking like oh AI is like what it's going to it's some people are very pessimistic about it but in then service now I'm very optimistic about about it because they're making it we're making it very obvious that this is still people first and I don't know anybody else have any thoughts on that can I I just I mean this is twisting your comment a little bit but when you're talking about like building for the the people right and including the people and and service now is all about the people one thing that I really loved acknowledge this year was how much the hack for good was an emphasis right which is a Different Twist on four people but like I don't know just seeing the the hack for good booth and seeing that it was a category in the hackathon like I don't I just thought it was really exciting to see service now really encouraging and and pushing people that direction to like we all have these incredible um talents and abilities with service now and service now makes that possible um and so taking that and applying it towards something that that is good and is going to like help people you know I just thought that was really awesome and for me it we were speaking about the use cases right which were shown in the the Creator con keynote being an advocate of Citizen development the app creation was it's a game changer basically because I see at the moment the struggle for people who wants to create app and service now claims that we can do we can create an app in 5 minutes is all already a huge achievement I think with respect to Ai and app creation so that was a key takeaway and another thing is we are currently discussing the internal developer platform within the organization now the sandbox thing which is coming will Elevate and help me to do that to do that internal discussion because at the moment service now was not capable of having multiple branches but as soon as I heard yeah we can support multiple branches I was like oh wow we are going there now so I'm going to fight with the full force now once this feature is life it's funny we haven't mentioned sandboxes even though that was like the mic shop moment for the keyot too uh sandboxes um I really encourage you if you have no idea what we're talking about go check out that Creator conon keynote uh because you'll want to see the demo of that full app generation from start to beginning with low code to Pro code and then sandboxes talked about because that's just that's cool stuff that that really brings like a smile to all of us that are have been doing Dev for so long and like oh look at we're getting so much love this time um yeah go watch the keynote plus you get to see Chuck and Lauren and uh who else was on the stage there ay uh CJ CJ jine J P Casey Christy Miriam jithan basker who's uh one of our VPS and Samir dwan Dan danan dwani sandbox is so good because I know we've been we've been hearing about it for a long time now internally and now it's finally out there and being able to put entire developing teams in one instance instead of having to have eight million instances just for different teams that's going to be a lot of fun um I do let's shift gears a little bit we had I can't even find comment now I'm scrolling way up uh we had someone ask um can we talk about how we should get started in becoming an MVP uh and I'm still scrolling I was hoping I was going to find if you all don't know I start talking and by the I hope by The End by the time I finish a sentence that I will figure out what I'm going to do next um but I can't find the comments so I can't click on it to show it on the screen so I'm sorry I don't remember who said it but um it I want us to think about that in the realm of as we finish our time at knowledge or these few weeks after knowledge what are the things you could do right now you all can do right now or anybody watching or anybody that's not an MVP to really um keep the conversation of knowledge going uh and to start making content from those things that you were able to glean off of knowledge and stuff like that so if you if anybody wants to jump in on that topic feel free and maybe I can share a bit what what for me is a good way to start is start with your own curiosity uh so the things that you might not know that you're deep diving into that you're curious about uh most of the time other people are also curious about that so sharing that using your curiosity and maybe also the creativity to once you find that answer to share it in a accessible one approachable way I think that's key to uh to become an MVP I would like to be go with this as well so if you want to share the knowledge you have to be learned as well and if you want to learn more things you have to be share the knowledge as well so this is what we MVP do basically we learn we share then we share we learn again so the only only part is that more you share more you learn and this is what is a path for you to be become MVP but one thing it's a long journey it's not like today starting tomorrow MVP it's a long long long journey have a patience and keep walking keep walking and keep walking and if something doesn't work the first time try try another thing the moment you produce a good content that is consumable you will see that people will start uh engaging with it re sharing and that is the moment that you know you're doing good contributions and you need to continue this way you're muted M I'm I was on mute um I got sorry I started getting teams messages I was like I gotta mute it anyways um so like what Martin said almost all of us our first dozens of things that we put online probably have a collective like 100 views total like that's that's all of us that was all of us so the the first step of the journey is is trying and so just start putting things out there um one of the things that always comes up about and some of you on this call too uh don't be the reason that you're not an MVP like yourself like let us decide if you are um if you are or not because you don't know if you're a lot of you are qualified that are watching this and you don't even realize it and you keep telling yourself that you're not and then we tell you that you are so let us surprise you and just start putting out content there just start having fun with it like right like I think a lot of the things that I saw this past week were great content mostly because people were having fun and have fun in your content just uh one of my favorite things about the hackathon this year I got to tell everybody um hey everyone you need to submit a pitch video and we need to watch this at midnight to 3 in the morning please make them funny um and everyone ran with it and we had such a hard time judging all these submissions because all the pitch videos were so memorable and funny and charming and I was like why people are doing this on an eight hour whim why like all of you at home watching this you probably can do the same thing so just have fun with your content anything that's fun to you is probably fun to other people and I hope more people realize that I want to say it goes goes beyond content too that's not the only ch you've got to express yourself back to the community there's developer meetups either presenting at a Meetup or organizing a Meetup there's still opportunities lots of cities out there I just had what two requests in the last month hey can we started developer Meetup in our city those conversations are are either underway or getting underway shortly so there's there's lots of different ways you can give back to the community content is a great way and I I'm all for it because the more people that share the more people that learn the more people grow uh but there's also those in-person interactions as well that are just totally invaluable to me I would say be I would say Be Yourself trusty process and uh the service KN the best part about service KN Community is uh nobody's going to uh judge you you put on the content you will see especially our group as well uh sharing your content motivating you and if if you need any guidance or anything just feel free to reach out to any one of us and yeah happy to guide I was just having a discussion in the chat if you're not watching live uh Jeffrey was saying oh I missed the videos that Chuck used to do when he went into the community live and would answer questions and and I said hey just because I'm not doing it doesn't mean somebody else can't pick up that and run with it you know maybe that's your content go in explore challenge yourself to learn and dig in and solve problems and answer questions you don't need to be an expert you know even if you you could stage these up ahead of time and go here's three things I want to talk about that I have half a chance of either learning from or sharing that's all I was doing is some days there was it was it wasn't scripted but I know what I was after and some days it was just blind luck going let's try that one yeah and eventually also everyone can become an MVP right it's just you know share things and collaborate also the collaboration part also what what Chuck is mentioning it's also a lot of fun uh you learn a lot from it it gives you a lot of energy also um so yeah you know everyone can just become an MVP uh it's just start doing things and try to start things also uh try to do them continuously just throughout the whole year um it doesn't have to be every day you don't have to spend four hours extra a week you don't have to if you want to it's it's allowed but um but you know just share and and and collaborate because that's also just a ton of fun and also you know some of us already said like don't be afraid to share and maybe you don't know enough yet well that's also then you're learning more and more just by trying to share because you're figuring out things that you didn't knew yet or eventually you start sharing things and people will comment something and you're thinking oh that's free knowledge coming your way so by sharing you're also just yeah I don't know increasing your own level your own not only technical also the the soft skills uh are are growing in your how you communicate how you collaborate uh you're not English is not your native language Etc so oh I I can go on and on but I'll do a session next year I I do want to shout out in the chat um William Williams and uh asos's Bromance that's happening behind the scenes um so um but on top of what Mark is saying of like uh share everything and the idea of all that kind of stuff like what what we seeing in the chat too with um between you two is a lot of how a lot of us got started was someone took a chance on us right and if you are an MVP already watching this or if you're already active in the community you never know what impact you'll have by just encouraging another person to keep going I don't know how many times I told someone last week we're like hey I really love this um this I really like your shows we uh that you all do or all the content you put on you all um should really talk about this thing that you haven't covered because I've diving a lot into it and then I stopped and like why don't you come on the show with us and they're always like what no I was like but if you don't make that offer for that first time of just getting people's faces out there or encouraging to do more um you'll never know what kind of impact that you'll have like look I I like to use Chuck as the ultimate example of this but it's one of those things of like anybody that's watching this video um or on the stream right now like I would want people I would tell people like hey Chuck just started off by interacting with people answering questions um but like I would raise your hand if you your life has been positively impacted or your career has POS positively been impacted by Chuck so like all of I would assume all of us and then from there like a lot of what I do and things I've learned from Chuck like I would wonder how many people have been positively impacted by the stuff I've done and then from there how many people have been posibly positively impacted by those people and it's Chuck has such a long great career of knowing this and we've all been positively impacted but who new MVPs nine-time MVPs all of us like you're impacting people and who they're impacting people and there's something great if we can all remember that just encouraging person to do do anything might be the first step of creating the next Chuck so and I want let people know who may think oh I don't have enough experience for that yet jump in anyway I don't care if you just got your CSA yesterday you have a story to tell what did you learn from that CSA that's helping the community that's helping new people on board take us on that Journey with you I'm just starting out with flow designer let's go explore maybe you make a video or a blog or something about what did you learn in your what did you learn this week about flow designer what did you learn this week about form Builder what it's never too basic I have to keep reminding myself of that nothing is too basic because there's always somebody seeing it for the first time and why not them see your content first from even my husband who doesn't know anything about service now knows Chuck maybe this James Bond thing could work out but same here my wife also knows Chuck so and she's not a service but one thing I need to mention you have to take the poster down from the bedroom that that's not no that's not cool well the pro earing is classic um I mean to flip it on you all though my my wife knows a lot of your names and know and I talk about a lot of you so same both ways great but I need to give shout out to one person and because we are speaking about the fear uh of communic contributing we have MVP Carlos kamacho um he was my uh mentee and he had a fear of um contributing because he was not well in English but he started contributing in his own language and U see now he is MVP so why I'm saying this is because the fear sometimes we are stuck into it and the collaboration which we do together can help as well to become an MVP so for example me and D we already do few things in the background uh within the organization as well to motivate people to be an MVP but we also saw the power of partnership in the last keynote right there John and Dan see where they are and I made a fun of this during our immediately after that keynote me and Drew had a a session so we said yeah see this is another partnership not John and then but we are here because we collaborate together and we contribute to towards the community together so if you have any issues you can of course reach out to us and don't be a shy to contact and have a collaboration with other MVPs so that you can be an MVP next year yeah all Carlos to put dates on all their blog articles please it makes it easier to judge MVP like so painful going through Carlos's stuff sometimes because it has no dates and I'm just like I don't every year Carlos makes me look through all my old data to see what's the new content tell car love Carlos but tell him to put dates on it maybe on the previous note something I want to share here um before knowledge 22 I saw a message uh in link from Dru hey guys I'll be at K22 I'll be wearing a blue hat from that moment on I was looking for the blue hat all day long finally I found him I said okay just tell me what else I need to do to become an MVP and he said what you're doing is visible just continue this way and you will be an MVP one day this same year I was nominated as a as a rising star and the year after I was nominated as a as an MVP so this is again the power of the community and the support that we have between each other a look at all the love going around impact you never know just the even just the encouragement is might be enough to get somebody to become the next Rising Star then MVP then who knows um oh we turn into nice little heartfelt life coding happy hour of everyone just talking about each other that's so good okay um I love that I love these moments okay um uh any any other thoughts about continuing that conversation past knowledge into what it means to be more active in community or active in the sense of becoming an MVP I would love to see more diversity we had a good representation on stage we had a good representation in the MVP program that there's still more to go so we were talking about inspiring people if you're the first person from China to get an MVP or Japan or who knows where you know there's still a lot of representation to go around CJ was mentioning on stage and I was I was stunned to hear it when we were doing rehearsals and he said I'm the first black man to be an MVP and I went really that one I was like what took us so long was the first response and and the second was wait you're black but you it it's to the point where we you know we need your help to make that happen so that's another great way to inspire other people go hey I see myself doing that why not [Music] you I'm read I'm trying to read through the comments too what else we all cool all are thinking like uh thats maybe one point I would like to be add here from the knowledge perspective if you're coming to knowledge please don't hesitate to participate in the heathan that is the one of the finest place where you will learn you will make a good friends and you will enjoy a good um what I can say dinner as well ice creams cupcakes and pizza I know H is laughing now because we don't like pizza much but ice creams and cupcakes were awesome that part also one thing which we see from the last year I was there the participation count has been increased and it was a very tough participation that everybody want to be on on the top and when we see the the names of the team the app they buil it was like totally for the imag imagination that okay wow they build only this thing look like a simple use case but the way they build it's actually amazing so being MVP it is my second time at participate in the heathan and I recommend everybody who is coming to to knowledge please please please just sacrifice one night for Haan and you will enjoy a lot of lot of things lot of things this is what my recommendation that particular part I'm sure also want to speak on that particular part he's laughing now go yeah absolutely absolutely I'd recommend everybody to participate in the hackathon because uh you know there's so much to learn there's so much fun having around and then um obviously you're trying to build a very unique use case and then obviously when you build that video towards the end um I think it gives you a really good feeling that You' have actually contributed to something and for me uh that was actually a real problem which I was trying to solve with uh the service now platform where in you know I think the the use case that we were pitching in for was around your baggages being lost when you're traveling obviously a lot of people travel to knowledge lose their back when they're coming in and it's it's a real pin in the yeah so again the the solution that we're trying to build was on top of this and obviously utilizing a a platform as as big as service now uh was very good and I think thanks to Atul and the whole team they kept me motivated all the time because I was not going to participate but again they just just brought me in um again Atul kept mentioning that's free pizzas free ice cream so he fulfilled the two bars oh two bars was why do we need to I'm not gonna say no to it um I did I know uh I got my the surveys I I'm going to ask for more than just pizzas and salads next year's for the the late dinner uh but yeah the fact that they bring all that to us throughout the night is such a great thing um well I was going to say something else when I just started thinking about the food oh the picture I don't re think people realize if you were able to get into that picture this picture is going to be used everywhere like it's already getting posted in so many internal places too um that's knowledge has always this like we have this internal joke if you see a a professional photographer anywhere just start smiling and posing because you never know when you're you might just start appearing on every single like branded PowerPoint or um slideshow or picture on the website like uh s Selina um Zamora is that picture of her um at last year's Creator Creator con keynote is used everywhere and even on knowledge. servic now.com and like it was just a random picture and she was Shing and we make fun of um all of our other teammates who are in the background of that picture are blurred out and so they're like ha you got blurred um but yeah so kudos to anybody that got into that picture in hern's background because that probably is gonna be used in a lot of places anyways um yeah Ash's post everyone do the ashh PO there now we got a good screenshot we can get a good screenshot of that for everybody I want to know who who on this call is already making plans even if it's just in your head who's making plans for next year look at that everybody's already Brewing ideas whether it's hackathon ideas or presentations whatever so best the luck to all of you I already started to look at the at the flight and the hotel and already made two title slid for for session so uh prepared um with that I think we're at a good place to wrap up the show I don't think we're not um we weren't actually coding so I don't know if we need to rate our drinks everyone just hold up one through five on your hand on how good your drink was oh Warden has a two has a [Laughter] two oh okay all right um I want to thank uh our eight I want Chuck for hosting um today and the eight of our MVPs that were able to join I apologize to all the MVPs that didn't get into the room in time um but thank you to our MVPs thank you to everybody that participated last week at Creator conon or at knowledge everyone that put on uh Labs breakout sessions theater sessions anybody that was participating in Keynotes everybody that just welcomed people so readily around any of our booths um or even just going around and striking conversation uh it's you all that makes what working in service now such a great thing and I hope that we can keep that energy alive throughout the year and that is our common thing that we're going to keep talking about is I'm going to keep asking you all like hey if you had such a great week last last week I I want to see how you are keeping that conversation alive throughout these months especially post knowledge when everything starts going everyone's like oh knowledge was great and everyone kind of like down like oh time to breathe for a few months no I was like we got to keep that conversation going because that's all the people that aren't us on this screen are looking for that conversation so it's our jobs to keep that conversation going along with everybody else in the community thank you everybody uh have a great day or weekend have a great weekend thanks for joining have fun guys bye by bye [Music] w [Music] oh [Music]
