Why should I use Flows instead of Legacy Workflows? - Top 5 Tips
hi there my name is Jin Fen I'm the product manager of flow designer within service now I'm here to answer some of the frequently asked questions that I received and one of the top questions I receive is why should I use flow designer instead of workflow editor for anyone that's that does not know uh workflow editor is our Legacy tool that has not been invested for the past five years whereas a lot of net new investment and development happened to Flow Design you should always use flow designer because it is more intuitive as you see on the screenshot flow designer has a diagramming view that is intuitive especially for non-technical users this enables them to literally finger Trace down a process from beginning to end so this is easier for them to understand flow designer is also more scalable flows are extremely light way to execute in fact we have the same performance benchmarking result than business rules so all your flow workflow automations can run concurrently without slowing down the instances finally flow designer is more intelligent with the recent technology advancement of generative AI we have heavily invested into AI features to make flow designer smarter for example we released a feature in November this year that's called flow generation it literally turns plain English text to a flow in summary there will be more and more support and investment on Flow designer not on Legacy workflow so I encourage everyone to think flow designer first when it comes to create automation thank you
