What's new in the Washington DC release: ITOM Visibility
all righty I guess we can get started I see many of you that joined so uh thanks very much for joining so uh good morning good afternoon or good evening everyone thank you very much for joining this uh other session that is part of live on service now webinar serieses today we're going to learn more about the what's new in itone visibility Cloud acceler index so we'll see many amazing capabilities that we have recently released uh for q1 2024 and thanks again for joining I know that many of you have probably already joined are recuring um it visibility and cl accelerate Academy and yeah today is a little bit of a different session and uh we're going to see more details in a minute now before we get started I want to make sure that you are aware of this amazing live on service now interactive webinar series and this webinar is is as a matter of fact part of it and the aim of all these webinars is to really help you to speed the deployment of our Solutions and get value faster out of them uh we have amazing speakers that are lined up uh from um you know in our recurring monthly webinars and uh we have received amazing feedback many of you have probably already attended them so uh thanks for all of that uh make sure to access the link that I just posted in the chat and um uh well you can also scan this QR code now a few housekeeping items before we get started with this presentation please make sure that uh you use the Q&A feature to ask questions throughout the session the session will be also recorded So for those that can't make it it will be available in the uh Community page and after the session ends uh please fill out the survey and let us know how the session work and your feedback is very important for us and now without further going I'm going to introduce myself for those of you that don't know me my name is John Mario deluigi I'm part of the amazing outbound product management team for item and I specialize in cloud visib in U item uh visibility and Cloud accelerate and um we can get started so uh save Arbor notice before we go through the content uh please make sure that I could talk about some uh feature statements and uh solutions that are still in the planning stage that are not yet released so um please uh consider that while going through all this content we're going to have three sessions today um three sections inside this session I would say uh we're going to cover the item visibility part first then we're going to cover the cloud accelerator index Parts uh after this one the the agenda is going to be the same for everyone um of these three uh capabilities that we're covering we're going to see a brief overview then we're going to get deeper into the major and other new features and we're going to see how they actually work with the item visibility value growth you can really see how much Innovations are amazing product and Engineering teams have been introducing into the market this is outstanding and really testifies how much we have been uh really working hard to make sure that your needs are satisfied and are met so um of course there is a lot of content as you can tell and today we're going to cover um what was part of the uh q1 2024 um uh family store release we have a a lot of major new features to cover from Discovery content service to Cloud native operations for visibility um some Innovations around ACC and part execution and ACC with service mapping I guess if you attended the webinar earlier on this week you'll be already familiar with some of these then we have uh the service mapping uh mid Affinity that we're going to cover all in detail then we also have some discovering service mapping patterns such as the PE storage flasher uh Discovery pattern or uh the possibility to discover uh F5 firewalls via HTTP with a token based Authentication with only read uh readon account then we have introduced some Innovations around uh agent client collector uh framework with the certificate rotation for mless architecture and a new uh lightweight build and we have also introduced some new Innovations already around Cloud native operations for visibility so the new CNL and uh the uh discovery of uh in particular the Adaptive system research consumption based on instance performances now without further saying there are no other uh end of life uh capabilities uh to uh be announced today so we're going to um make sure that we go through the overview of the uh Discovery atmin workspace just actually want to make sure because I see a quick question there that um the CL operations store up uh is uh going to be uh end of life in March 2025 so uh users of that one should use the accb now first major um new feature that we're going to cover for today is the Discovery admin workspace that is a new um workspace that is been introduced and it's going to present a lot of enrichments in the uh uh coming releases again safe hardboard notice and today we're going to talk about Discovery contents service many of you have reached out to us saying that uh they were uh sometimes in a situation where they needed to create new uh specific patterns to discover their um uh service um their applications basically and uh sometimes the process could have been requiring a lot of time a lot of manual effort and they wanted something more out of the box in this case we are introducing the uh capability to easily create the uh application Discovery patterns with this new solution and we're going to see more details about it first of all how you can activate it you can activate it by installing the latest releases of Discovery admin workspace content service store apps and it also requires the latest versions of CP workspace and Washington release um for the unified uh not map view and requires the activation of Discovery in uh predictive intelligence for clustering uh plugins essentially what are we doing here so once you op in for this new solution you're going to be sending unrecognized uh process fingerprints which are uh collected basically from uh different environments and uh the so-called Librarians will analyze their fingerprints and they will create dedicated patterns that are then ship back so you will obtain process fingerprints and SNMP o is specifically um the uh op is uh for this solution is really started uh for you to choose whether to send us running process fingerprints on SNMP uh system IDs basically identifiers and the data is completely anonymized no personal confid data is shared but the the real Point here as I was mentioning before is that the discovery admins they really want an accurate uh uh set of patterns to recognize all the applications that they are deployed in their environments and without having to create application fingerprints and that's where content service comes to help it basically does what we just talked about collecting on recognized fingerprints for different environments and then we have the Librarians that will analyze them to create dedicated patterns and ship them you will see that the uh dashboard already offers a lot of uh content service suggestion this is an increasing number once you obtain they are shap they are out of the box and they are being uh added automatically by The Librarians we have more than 500 that are already there out of the box for you and uh new content is being shipped on a weekly basis so you'll have um very likely when you install it you're going to have more than 500 and uh uh you can also as a discovery admin you can quickly ask the total applications here has the that have been discovered and uh with a clear view of the uh ones that have been defined by content service which is great to see exactly how the content servic is helping you on a daily basis and now um there are two main uh parts of content service one is the uh application fingerprints uh suggestions where when you click on that widget that which is so before you're going to be uh able to view the full list of them and uh the suggested basically fingerprints are elaborated by Machine learning based on the process clustering that is Happ happening on your instance then we have uh once you click in each of the suggested application you can see more details about the suggested classifier Rule and automatically you will also see all the process sample so you know exactly uh the um extent of the impact let's say of that very same suggestion and also the related servers um so you can see uh the uh specific suggested applications and especially where are they running now uh for Discovery uh content service you can also ignore the application fingerprints that are shipped in there and you have a very simplified way to do that and you can see the full list of it but uh what's really important here to understand is that you will get a fullon list of content service suggestions that is organized by categories you're basically uh have a list of a categorization of the different process classifiers that are being shipped so um for these process classifiers we have more metadata that is being provided and that's what what really helps to classify them under standard uh categories based on the G to Crow taxonomy and you can check the uh dedicated KB um that will be shipped together with this deck and they will be attached to this um very same registration page on the Community page where we basically uh ad advertise this webinar if you want to learn more about that and then um the discovery admins can before actually activating uh the suggested application they can also see what is the impact of the potential CIS they will be created which is a quite cool feature and when you're wondering okay but how many CIS will be created well uh they won't go necessarily under the uh application CI class and that's really uh to avoid it becoming too broad but they will go under a generic C Class you can see here which is the cbci app generic and which is basically a backend table the cool thing is that the Unified no map integration is also shaped there so whenever you're uh uh accessing the list of all the suggested um of all the applications basically that are being created that we saw before you will be able to access the new unified map and this is a quite good new feature that if you're not aware of that basically integrates the traditional dependency View and the service map view and uh this is quite cool because you can see many many different aspects of uh the very same map overlapping the two contexts of the dependency and the uh service map you can also obtain um um you know benefits for software Asset Management use cases so for each process classifier category that we saw before the discovery admins will be able to activate the creation of the installed software um and that's going to be really useful again for some outcomes another big big feature that has been um introduced is the new CN essentially the new CNO will help you to adopt u a lightweight approach to discover your kubernetes resources and you'll be able to discover them both continuously and we can say with full traditional um in a way the full Discovery approach the new CNO uh requires the February 20 uh 204 release of agent client collector for visibility and Discovery and service mapping patterns store apps uh you have uh the technical requirements here and we're going to see now how it works it basically uh requires the installation of a kubernetes Informer if you're not familiar with a kubernetes Informer it's basically a tool or a component we can call it that is uh used in kubernetes application and it really is useful to uh watch and react to changes that are happening in the kubernetes cluster as an example the creation or modification or even the addition of resources uh like pods and services it also uh is useful uh to provide a way for applications to stay updated and respond to these changes in real time and basically you'll have the uh Informer um uh that's running again on the kubernetes cluster and once you deploy inside the kubernetes cluster it will connect to the kubernetes API server um uh as a listener so whenever there is an update as an example an event it will post events to the queue and then you have any former library that is leveraged to implement this uh event based mechanism and all the events will be posted in the queue as we can see here where they are maintained by the uh in memory by the Informer Library itself and then the events are basically uh p pick and send directly to the service now instance with this connection now for um uh the installation itself we can see here and you will have available more steps on how it basically Works uh you basically need to create in namespace in your local create a secret uh for the credentials uh to communicate with service now you'll also uh create a secret to download the out of the box inform image uh from the service now Enterprise dockerhub repository Direct and install the Appia Helm chart and uh you can see that as soon as that very same inform is been installed all the resources that will be within that cluster will also be start to be uh discovered with continuous discovering will be accessible from uh the terminal and the that's why we see them here but also the kubernetes dashboard with the old experience in the kubernetes Explorer with the new um experience sort of will be populated with all the details about what you discovered you will have in this way a list view whenever you navigate to Ceno for visibility uh you have uh the list of all the informers that have been installed and they will be uh having this view that is very similar to The View that you will have of your mid servers an example because you'll be able to see their status full Discovery status the last time they did the full Discovery continuous Discovery uh all the kubernetes pods on top of which they are the kubernetes cluster where they are basically installed and the informal version so you have um all this information just please note that each informat can be only dedicated to one kubernetes cluster and once you click on those informers you have the uh troubleshooting actions that you can see here you can do the uh full Discovery you can run that on demand or you can grab the informal logs that will be attached to the Informer uh form like we have in this example then you can open uh the dedicated view in data Navigator or pose and uh even resume that very same form which uh is not necessarily uh stopping it but is uh basically uh stopping the population of the cmdb um itself and then you can even restart it so it will in that case stop the Pod and create uh a new one and start the inform now uh we have great great innovations that have been announced and you can go to the uh item uh um visibility and Cloud accelery Academy to see more details but basically you'll be able now to perform the pattern execution directly leveraging your ACC connection these an amazing Innovation and basically in a nutshell how it works is that the instance will orchestrate the execution of patterns and the mid server will proceed with the pattern execution uh but instead of trying the SSH or Powershell with winrm or wmi to connect to the system it would just use the existing connection that has already uh been established with uh for the agent basically and then it will inser the agent to execute that command and then the ACC will execute it locally and run it back ret return it back M uh for the rest of the process uh of the processing of the pattern basically so this is absolutely huge and uh you need to install the FI release of uh the accf accv discovery and service mapping patterns and uh visibility content store apps you have more technical information you'll be uh able to access uh here with this deck that will be shared on that very same page and then um BAS basically you we we also have another features that is related to this one so right now service mapping will be possible uh directly uh by leveraging the ACC so um what what's really Innovative here is that we're introducing the ability to lever into to basically uh use the Amo based service mapping and top down service mapping from the data that is being collected from the agent client collector that means that the ACC is collecting the running process and traffic data and then is running connection suggestions this is huge as well because it allows basically the um Discovery admins or service mapping admins to run service mapping in hybrid mode uh both leveraging the agent L type of Discovery and agent based if you want to know more about this uh please make sure you see uh the uh item visibility in again Cloud accelate uh Academy then we also have the service mapping mid Affinity support and this is a big feature in terms of uh showcasing how we really listen to your voice this was one of the most uh voted and top voted ideas on our idea portal and for those of you that are not familiar with idea portal please make sure they use it because that's a great way for you to suggest us the product Team how to uh evolve our products or what to implement next you will have in this case the possibility to leverage the uh history of horizontal mid server selection that that um then will be used for the service mapping itself so in this case as an example whenever we have larger organizations that have hundreds of locations to improve their service mapping posture this is very useful and in general is uh uh it really brings a a lot of efficiency in the service mapping process itself please make sure that it's available from Washington release so Washington in this case will be a prerequisite and now um I'm going to see um in the chat we actually have uh a lot of content to go through so I'm gonna perhaps just leave this uh at the very uh later part so we're going to go through the content first and then I'm going to see uh if I can pick one or two questions let's talk about what's new in Cloud accelerates we all know that item um has a plenty of cloud capabilities and Cloud accelerate is the new skew that has been introduced to enclose all of those Cloud capabilities within iton and it's basically an extension of what used to be the uh governance uh skew and item governance was first introduced in uh the beginning of 2022 with the q1 release uh and we can see though that we introduced many many new Innovations just to give you an idea we uh what we're trying to do with Cloud accelerate is to really help everyone that is facing the uh in is undergoing Cloud transformation from the moment where they are in a landing stage just deciding the uh application migration uh or the resources migration decisions and then when they're creating the new Cloud accounts creating Cloud policies to then to the deploy stage where we have the creation of a self-service option in terms of cloud offerings and then the actual request and deployment of those very same resources to then to the managing stage of what has been provisioned and what has been discovered with the uh security and governance checks and the day-to-day operations that's where cloud acceler accelerat skq is really helping you we have Cloud migration assessment that allows you to take better migration decisions we have the new cloud services catalog to really scale your uh selfservice cloud serice service uh capabilities and really make sure that you can provision and govern any um of your Cloud resources in a better way then you have cloud configur a governance and Cloud action library that are really helping you act on those resources and making sure that all these um governance policies are addressed and we also have the Innovation lab release of cloud account management and please make sure that that's only an innovation lab for now it's not GA and especially that's a big call out for you make sure that you go and download the app because again this a uh jary Innovation that was just introduced and Cloud account management has been a feature that a lot of customers have asked us to uh really work on WE essentially simplifying the account request and the cloud sub subscription Account Processing um uh because we know that a lot of companies are struggling with it they want a centralized and unified way in order to create new uh Cloud subscri subscription accounts and um this is available again in Innovation labs and you need the cloud account management Store app for that um it also requires terraforming cloud account and uh there is support for AWS uh Cloud for now even if we're going to introduce more and it basically uh doesn't have necessarily licensing implications as of now uh because the Innovation lab releases don't require any suus consumption now how does Cam work now uh first of all uh we need to understand that the um there are you know we have a central Ro here for terraform and basically just trying to really understand how it works I wanted to make sure that we see what is the flow they were trying to cover here we have the requestor experience we have the approver experience the provisioner and admin experience so four different different users they were trying to help and these users will be basically leveraging a unified workflow where we have that uh the C solution is leveraging terraform to discover the GitHub uh templates and then it has an API call uh to the cloud environment itself in this case of AWS to provision to request and orchestrate the provisioning of a new cloud account how does that work let's see the four different experiences starting from the requestor experience what we're doing here is again we are introducing self-service capabilities for in this case let's imagine a uh Team lead of a development team right so we have a software development team the team lead is going to be the one that is responsible for asking and uh for requesting for a new club sub subscription accounts to be provisioned now the view that they will have will be uh the uh very simplified view of the total number of requests that they have done or total number of the accounts that have been already provisioned within cam uh all the requests and the recent request so to see how many been approved how many um have been denied and to really see uh what's how are these requests going basically now will be also able to see and this is a very cool feature in my opinion based on those accounts how many are associated as an example to one specific project or to one application this really is a good breakout of uh those requests and then they can see how many accounts have been created in uh the accounts by environment as a matter of fact C supports both the test development and uh production environments if they got the request dashboard they're going to be able to see all the details about all their requests and once they click on a new request they'll be able to simultaneously ask for more accounts so at the same time they're going to have the possibility to deploy a new account in the in a development production and test environment contemporarily once they click into it they will be able to fill out some of these um for basically these form and some of these fields we can automate which ones will be pre-populated there is a monthly budget limit that will be potentially set up there there will be tags to be Associated to that very same account and we can see that the forums are uh the same across the different environments that need to be uh submitted but again it's a very simplified View and after submitting these requests they'll be able to easily review all of them together to before they're submitted then it will have in the request dashboard U this is a different view we've seen the request or now we have the approver so whoever is designated to approve this request they will immediately receive those very same requests and we can see the two uh that are being requested there for development and testing purposes and once uh opening them they will have a very good stus structure and more more details about the account they will be able to insert comments if necessary or otherwise to approve them that's when the provisionary experience is going to be uh playing a key role here because the provisioner is going to have again another view as well starting from the configuration view um they will have not only the again the my task view but also configuration the configuration menu item is basically redirect into the subscription account uh configurations list and these configurations are set up by the uh provisioner at the very beginning of the process so they don't need to be done for each account request and each subscription account configuration defines a technical elements such as the terraform organization or the cloud organization Cloud type in Innovation libr relase on of course AWS is supported or even credentials and VCF s identified and request type and once they navigate to their tasks they will be automatically seeing the task that they need to um the ones that are being approved um in this case when clicking on that specific task the provisioner once the the task has been approved they will be responsible to specify the cloud environment the cloud organization or organization units whenever these uh um items are not already pre-filled and once they specify that they will have the different flows we have the uh prepared execution flow we have create workspace flow and create account flow and they can uh easily also navigate to the dedicated view uh request execution list details menu to view all the provisioning request statuses and uh after you know these uh provisioning request will be started there will be this Playbook so in particular workflows that are automatically executed in the background and then will be able to see that for each of these execution IDs uh that are uh basically um they are corresponding or they're representing a job that is running in the back end and clicking into the uh execution ID itself provisionist will be then able uh to review each of those steps under the ex execution in the um U of that very same process and in this case the execution record creation workspace creation um you know uh apply term form process Etc so we can see all of them right here and once the provisioning is finished they'll be uh we'll have the admin experience right they can navigate to the process automation designer in case they want to uh change the out of the box subscription account creation process flow and this is again just leveraging um the flow designer to uh for those flows that we just mentioned there they will be able to add activities or change them up so everything that I showed there is really um potentially uh really easily uh automatable now um I see that there are a few questions so I just want to stop here um so any ETA on W this will be available for Azure again uh Safe Harbor notice were working and trying to make sure they will come with the um uh with the next releases so uh what is the use case for uh Cloud accelerates I guess this related to uh cam or more in general the role of cloud accelerates it's very easy so let's imagine that we have the possibility to discover all the different Cloud environments that we are working on you'll be able to um basically bring back to your cmdb all the configuration data of your Cloud environments so that you can enable uh software Asset Management use cases by discovering software installation and sbom you'll be able to uh have um security use cases by leveraging cspm on top of what you just discovered so a cloud security poster management to really see uh if you have any um posture issues security posture issues on your uh cloud or you can have uh any other type of uh Discovery in order to really make sure that you are compliant with your U policies specifically industry policies is an example if you have PCI Data or um pii data inside of your Cloud environments so uh at that point that's when not only you need to manage your Cloud environments but whenever you'll be provisioning new Cloud environments and you want to have uh try to automates the self-service capability so anyone can order new Cloud subscription accounts or Cloud resources to be deployed you're really U making sure that the cloud teams have less work to do and you have still full visibility across your service now platform and you can enable any of those use cases that we mentioned before and more so I hope this answered your question thank you for your great participation by the way um so I'm looking for just another question yes the slides will be available on the very um same uh page and then for kubernetes discovery that we talked about before just want to make sure that everyone understands that um this is another so Cloud native operations that we talked about before is just another method uh revolutionary in this case to discover your kubernetes environments it does not mean that the old uh Discovery U schedules methods are not valid anymore it just depends on your use cases really and what credentials uh you will need to be getting or you will be able to get Etc and uh CN for visibility uh does uh not require an additional uh license as we said before and actually let me get back to that part um it's uh included with itone visibility or only bundle that includes item visibility so you don't have to worry about that now uh thanks again for these um uh amazing questions I see a lot of interaction and I'm very happy to have all of them here I saw uh that even uh doels joined us today so he's gonna be able to answer more of those and yeah that was it for cloud accelerate and visibility now in the last 20 minutes we're going to talk about what's new in Dex the digital and user experience first of all Dex is not a ga product is currently uh uh available for a limited uh set of customers so if you're really interested in Dex make sure to reach out to your account teams um but it's uh again save our notice U we're working to make a ga um soon now U and and of course that that's you know that can change the plans can always change and so don't take any purchasing decision based on what I just said now for uh Dex ER this is a great solution that is basically trying to revolutionize the digital uh employee experience what we're trying to do here and what we're doing with this solution is essentially to make it easy for employees to have one shop stop for the um just to be able to access their service now instances to open up a new ticket to do uh all sorts of activities um um and um really make sure that they can troubleshoot any of those issues that can arise in their end user uh devices in a nutshell and at the same time trying to make sure that the it help desks or the uh support uh teams are really able to troubleshoot and really manage the uh end user estate in the most efficient way we all know that especially after covid right when a lot of us have been working remotely a lot of things can go wrong with our end user devices with our laptops basically and this is exactly what we're trying to do here we're trying to make sure that we uh prevent those issues uh from really impacting the productivity of the uh user and the vision is to autor remediate the applications and devices issues and uh to really have provide the employees with greater insights or actionable items on how to troubleshoot any potential issues and making sure that we capture and we monitor the device health and applications heeld across the end user Computing landscape now uh um will be uh able to see more details um about the digital end user experience you will be provided with more details basically uh but it's still again not necessarily GA so you need to interact with your accountings if you want it and um you you have three applications that you need to activate three different store apps because you have Dex desktop assistant Dex application and device s and Dex content Playbook again for those of you that will be able to get entitlement to it now um Dex say two parts so again trying to help the end user uh and end users actually with a desktop assistant app that they can actually install in their devices and then the application and device health which is the dashboard that the uh it support team alest teams will be able to Leverage now we are basically installing an agent uh inside the device and after that's installed there is a configurable app that can be installed in those very same end user devices so users will be able to see um uh a lot of different items and resources directly on this very same app they will be able to uh have more information uh have Smart notification and go to knowledge based articles do networking tests and really run Diagnostics and so on and so forth um so really it's One-Stop shop um in order to make sure that they are as productive as possible and then we have the other experience that we are automating which is the uh typical again it support teams help Des teams Etc and they will be able to uh really access a lot of ton of information about the application and device health um basically not only for SAS applications but also about install apps they will be able to collect real time usage um of these data and uh it basically would require a chrome and there's also a chrome and Microsoft edge browser extension uh there's a midlas ACC communication there is the first time that we have an agent that is interacting with the service now instance in a mid mid less way and this is uh essentially because you can imagine that there are a lot of endpoints and that will facilitate a bit the actual implementation of this solution and um yeah so this is again we're going to see a little bit more details about both of these uh parts of Dex let's say now Dex was uh introduced in August 2023 with a control go to market release uh where we introduced the possibility in the desktop assistant to view system activity virtual agent notifications and search bar whereas in the application and device health we had the user table with new health dashboard Network dashboard and logins dashboard and a new um Microsoft Edge extension in the November control go market release in 2023 we also ened the application and device health with uh the geolocation information for the uh devices and and then custom queries which allow to collect specific data on top of what it's usually collected from the user and user devices then we have the integration with itm from where it's possible to directly access decks already from the service operations workspace and the uh Improvement of the Chrome plugin then we have in February uh which is the new uh control go market release where we have enhancements in both applications and device self and desktop assistant um we're going to see all these in detail now so we have first of all the Dex menu integration with aw uh navigation bar and basically uh we can see that the different tabs have been uh uh integrated with the service operations work space in the left part here so the left navigation bar then we have uh the user dashboard updates here where we have the overview alerts and incidents and Battery dashboards integrated within one single user where we have uh all the different uh details about this information and for Windows devices we're also going to have uh the device uh two more two more uh menu items basically the security and Hardware tuab so we have more information just for Windows devices whereas before um that's for maic OS uh devices where we have only three uh me these specific three menu items then when it comes to the access dashboard for each of the devices it's possible to view the logins and the uh user profiles um and that's possible specifically for Windows devices Now for apps uh metrix aggregation whenever you're going and targeting a specific app as an example an installed app and you want to see the performances you'll be able to see performances for different time ranges and that's going to help you to better understand how it has been performing over a selected period of time then we have the uh at the same time we have aggregation that can also be done for the installed applications before we saw a SAS app such as figma and this case we have an installed application which is Excel and again we can monitor the uh performances over that period of time and we can also see by the way the current CPU usage and average memory usage um but uh basically that's already was already there we can just now filter out more and have more granularity in terms of performances and then for custom cues they can now be executed directly from the device page we have other the Box custom ques and these are really helpful again to really gather more data more specific data for whatever use cases that you might have uh that is not otherwise typically collected with deck and uh this really is um improving the sort of awareness and visibility that you have over these devices that have been monitored it's also possible now to have uh an aggregation of all the metrics by displaying uh all the uh these different information so the monthly application Trends uh that are been really aggregated under the metric section for each of the applications so we can see how many what is the total usage fied uh web request average response time and average payload time and they have been aggregated and now um talking about the desktop assistant we have the uh usage Matrix dashboard this dashboard is basically replacing what was to be called the desktop assistant dashboard and is now integrated here in the service operations workspace um so we have all the views of the uh not only what was already there so the log logged in devices connection status but also the incidents that are created from the desktop assistant itself and the new us usage metrix dashboard can be found in the search bar and uh under Administration tab as well basically that's how you'll be able to um to access it under Administration tab desktop assistant usage metrics now um talking about still desktop assistant um desktop assistant can be a proper incident Channel Source right now in fact when you're going to see the list of incidents under Channel you'll be able not only to select the email phone self-service virtual agent Etc sources but desktop assistant is officially feature this one of those proper channels then um for uh the single line installer uh commands we have a few updates there's a simplified single line installation on Windows devices first of all there's the introduction of a single line uh uninstaller commands so that you can uh for whatever reason is possible to directly uninstall it uh by leveraging these commands and then for uh ma OS if you're not sure of the architecture you have a universal build uh that you can directly download for all those use cases where you can't get the specific architecture which is pretty handy and last but not least we have the Su integration with Dex so uh software asset management will now Leverage The usage uh per day and last accessed metrics that are captured by Dex for the web applications now I know that it was a lot of uh content and we definitely had a lot of innovation so uh I am aware that um it's it's definitely a lot to take in I'm going to see have a look at the actual questions I see there are many coming in before we uh g into the next uh section now how are okay so so does Dex desktop assistant require license if so what is the cost per device right um so in terms of Licensing again you can get Dex is now it's not necessarily GA so you have to Li is with your accoun team which will be best able to really um suggest you to path forward but if you're really interesting we're absolutely um available to provide you more details just make sure that you engage with your account teams so uh if the performances are ingested how do you determine results are good or bad right that's a very good question Alexander basically you can set um specific uh alerts you can you can configure uh for your own use case and you can decide um if you want to put thresholds Etc but there are a lot of innovations that are coming up with Dex and um by now until GA it's very hard to uh for me to communicate at this stage everything that will come out the box what uh really is in my opinion essential is that you can monitor all the alerts that are potentially uh coming from as I was saying before right if you go and look at the actual incidents not alerts but the incidents that are creating from the desktop assistant itself and with the geolocation capability you'll be automatically able to establish what are the areas the geographical areas where you have the most problems so you are automatically able to understand what is the point of intervention and um uh one thing actually for everyone that is connected uh to this call please keep in mind that Dex is now going to align with the itsm offerings starting from uh this new uh quarters the next basically what's new sessions are going to be presented very likely within uh the itm amazing team so you're definitely in good hands and uh right I see that uh there are questions about the playlist just make sure that you go to live on service now webinar series and you look for item events and you're going to be able to see more of those and right I see um few a good few a good amount of questions was actually um collected here so I just want to enforce one very important concept here Dex has been constantly uh evolved as a solution and you can definitely lay with your account teams but one very important thing before we wrap up is that please make sure if you're interested in cam so cloud account management solution to go to the store and download The Innovation Li release is or free you can test it out in your non um proud environments but your feedback is really really appreciated and if you have any feedback about about all of our features if you have any suggestions please make sure that you go to the idea portal and that's where you're going to be able to suggest us uh all the Innovations now there are research opportunities and I'm going to uh make sure sure that you have the link via chat uh we are looking for some uh feedback from your side on the innovations that are being presented today so uh please make sure that you sign up to this uh uh in this chat is actually uh very useful for you uh and it really helps us to better establish the path forward with our products and make sure that you register to the live on service now webinar series because that's how we host most of our sessions so you can be uh up to dat with everything that we're hosting and we really uh have a ton of interesting sessions for you so um I want to see um right is it possible to leverage next thing for Dex uh that's an interesting question I would say that Dex uh does not consider that as of now and um really uh if you have any of these suggestions please make sure to use the IDE portal thank you I see a lot of interesting questions so I really appreciate this and please um make sure that you provide us feedback make sure to leverage the idea portal and again make sure that you can leverage the research uh opportunity and this will be very helpful for you as well and I'm really happy to have this amazing conversation thank you dog for having helped us throughout the session to answer questions I'm looking forward to see you all in the next session and I thank you very much for attending these sessions I really look forward to see you soon thank you so much
