[Music] hello my name is Morgan ponus and I'm a solution consultant with service now specializing in security operations today I'm going to walk you through one of the new features available with the Washington DC now platform release security posture control which is featured in the vulnerability response module this presentation may contain forward-looking statements that reflect the current beliefs of service now and are based on current information available these forward-looking statements should not be relied upon in making purchasing decisions previously customers experienced a lack of visibility and board level reporting on security tool coverage gaps in overall Asset Risk posture security posture control helps organizations address the question what assets do I need to protect this new product offers asset security posture management providing visibility into security tool coverage gaps such as missing endpoint protection agent or missing configuration on Enterprise assets including on-prem devices and cloud-based virtual machines customers using security posture control and vulnerab ility response together enable vulnerability managers to Define remediation targets and risk score for vulnerabilities based on policy violation data from security posture control for example assets missing endpoint protection or Internet facing Cloud assets missing critical security tools can be automatically prioritized for vulnerability remediation or patching with security posture control we are also able to automate response workflows to correct asset hygiene gaps and detect and prioritize highrisk asset combinations with critical vulnerabilities or misconfigurations please note that this new feature requires entitlement to the it operations management Discovery module which is separate from security operations now we will show you a peek into the workspace and the basic capabilities of this new feature when we first open the new security posture workspace we are greeted with various metrics regarding the status of various assets and policies across the infrastructure here we can get an overview into our security posture and take action on metrics that may be showing signs of vulnerability we can Define different policies for security posture control to monitor when an asset meets the requirement for a policy the results will appear in the findings list from the findings we are able to generate remediation tasks to resolve the findings of which configuration compliance can be leveraged asset search allows for building of queries so one can analyze potential misconfigurations on defined assets we can simply view the assets to get more information on such potential Mis configurations we can also save the query as a policy so security posture control can continue to monitor this specific query as we monitor our assets for misconfigurations we can create custom insights to visualize specific policies we have defined this new feature is available today with the now platform Washington DC release thank you so much for your time today and learning more about security operations and the new now platform Washington DC features for more information please visit www.s servicenow.com thank you
