How DeVonn Tyson is building a bright future for his family
If you’ve been searching for a fulfilling and financially rewarding career that can make your ambitions a reality, it’s time to RiseUp with ServiceNow. That’s what DeVonn Tyson has done, and it’s changing his life. After ten years of searching, he’s finally found his home in the ServiceNow ecosystem. He’s currently a Certified System Administrator (CSA), and he has big plans to grow his skills to become a ServiceNow technical architect.
DeVonn started out with a degree in Computer and Information Systems, but he struggled to find a role that would open up a path to achieving his ambition— becoming an IT Director. He worked as an IT support lead at a large office equipment retailer. Then, he made a complete career change, becoming a gym manager. Finally, he transitioned back into technology, working as a programmer at a managed security provider. Throughout this journey, he always knew that something better was waiting for him, but he couldn’t find it.
Then, DeVonn learned about the ServiceNow NextGen program. It seemed like the perfect starting point to finally build the career he really wanted. And with a newborn child, it was also a great opportunity to find financial security for his family in a well-paid ServiceNow position. DeVonn says that the NextGen program was an enriching experience, providing guidance and support that prepared him for a new career—support that continued even after he had completed the program. He is also enthusiastic about the other participants he met in the program, saying they were friendly and incredibly motivated.
Although DeVonn’s long-term goal is to become a technical architect and IT director, he wanted to get into the ServiceNow ecosystem as quickly as possible to improve his family’s prospects. Becoming a CSA gave him that opportunity—and with the huge demand for CSAs, he quickly secured a position. Now, he’s studying hard to grow his skills and career even further. He plans to become a ServiceNow developer and implementer and then use this as a springboard to become a technical architect.
DeVonn says that becoming a ServiceNow CSA has changed his life and the life of his family. He and his partner are now planning to buy a house thanks to his newfound financial stability, and he has time to spend with his child since he doesn’t have to work long hours anymore to make ends meet.
Isn’t it time for you to RiseUp with ServiceNow like DeVonn and start pursuing your dreams?
