Recapping Q4 India Developer Meetup Tour 🤩
Hello everyone!
Happy New Year!
I wanted to share with you all about my recent trip to Bangalore, Indore, and New Delhi for the Q4 India Developer Meetup Tour. India has a big ServiceNow Community, who are always eager to connect, share knowledge, and learn from others. It was in late October when I began planning the meetups in three Indian cities: Bangalore, Indore, and New Delhi. The preparation involved many moving parts, and I want to give a huge shout-out to @Tanvi Gokhale for her invaluable help.
Bangalore Meetup
I began the tour in Bangalore, India. Typically, our meetups are held in a setting where we can sit, network, learn, and have fun. However, this time, based on feedback from the Bangalore ServiceNow Community, they wanted to do something different. So, we planned a visit to Torq03 in Bangalore, an exciting arcade venue. I remember the wave of excitement that swept through the community when I announced this plan🤩 – it was something we had never done before. On the event day, December 9, 2023, I arrived at the location a bit early, around 10 AM IST. To my delight, nearly half of the confirmed participants were already there, their enthusiasm palpable.
We kicked off the event with introductions, where participants shared their names, workplaces, years of experience, and some interesting personal tidbits. These introductions sometimes made the audience laugh and at other times left them astonished. Then we had a technical session, I am joking
, we went for bowling, laser tag, and enjoyed various arcade games.
The lunch break offered a chance for in-depth discussions about ServiceNow – what they liked, what they didn’t, PDIs, meetups, the latest release, job market, and much more. It was my favorite segment, sparking ideas for future content. Stay tuned for that!
As the day drew to a close, we all said our goodbyes, took some photos, and shared laughs. Despite the fatigue, everyone seemed keen to keep going – a testament to the event's success. The general feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants already looking forward to the next meetup. It was an exceptionally memorable meetup for me, and I want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the event.

Indore Meetup
Indore, nestled in the heart of India, is the latest addition to our ServiceNow meetup groups. I'd always heard about Indore's delectable cuisine, but I didn't fully appreciate it until @Vijendra Sainy showcased the sizeable ServiceNow Community there. This piqued my interest, and I was eager to organize a meetup in Indore. The response was astounding: to my astonishment, nearly 40 people registered on the first day alone ![]()
. This overwhelming interest solidified my conviction that Indore was eager for a meetup.
On the event day, December 16, 2023, I arrived 20 minutes late (Google Maps showed a 5-minute walk that turned into 20🫠🫠). To my relief, everyone was already there, waiting patiently (a big thank you for not starting without me
). The event kicked off with a dynamic icebreaker activity, where participants were asked to converse with the person next to them and then introduce them on stage. It was incredibly engaging and fun, arguably the best icebreaker I've experienced.
Following this, I delved into the Developer Meetup Program, discussing its purpose, significance, and various facets. The participants responded enthusiastically, showing keen interest, and posing several insightful questions, all of which I happily addressed.
Next, Jitin Hirani from Infobeans conducted an informative technical session on the Access Analyzer – my favorite feature from the Vancouver release 🤩.
Lunch was a delightful affair where we indulged in Indore's renowned cuisine while engaging in lively discussions about ServiceNow. Post-lunch, we played a ServiceNow-themed version of Charades. It was a hit, sparking a fierce but friendly competitiveness among the participants. Their energy and enthusiasm were contagious, especially impressive after such a hearty meal!
As 4 PM approached, it was time for farewells, but the enthusiasm and spirit of the meetup lingered. Seeing all those ServiceNow enthusiasts gathered, I was filled with a sense of fulfilment and a bit of wistfulness, wondering, "Why didn't I start this sooner?" But, as the saying goes, it's never too late.
For those who attended the event, I encourage you to share your experiences. Your stories and perspectives are invaluable and add so much to our community. Let's keep this spirit alive until we meet again!

New Delhi Meetup
The final stop on my tour was New Delhi, the capital of India and the birthplace of one of the earliest ServiceNow meetup groups. The eagerness for more such events in New Delhi has always been remarkably high. Despite a health setback a week before the event, With God’s grace I recovered just in time for the meetup on December 23, 2023. Emulating the Bangalore meetup, we chose Smaaash, a vibrant arcade in New Delhi, as our venue.
The event unfolded with lively introductions, followed by an enjoyable round of bowling and various arcade games.
A notable highlight was the opportunity to engage with newcomers at the event, where I answered their queries and underscored the immense learning potential these meetups offer.
During lunch, I found myself in a stimulating discussion with three other developers, delving into the strategic choices of specializing deeply versus broadly in ServiceNow products.
As the event drew to a close, we captured the moments with photographs, exchanged New Year wishes, and bid our farewells. The meetup was a tremendous success, allowing me to impart knowledge, reconnect with old acquaintances, and forge new friendships. It was a fitting finale to the tour, leaving me with a sense of accomplishment and eager anticipation for future gatherings.
