There’s no better example than Kevin Chappelle. Kevin was working double shifts at a hospital, where he led the patient transport team. While Kevin made important contributions in this role, he found the sheer volume of work mentally exhausting, particularly in the aftermath of the pandemic. So, Kevin—always someone with deep motivation—started formulating a plan to change his career.

That’s when Kevin heard about ServiceNow on Twitter. ServiceNow seemed to align perfectly with his career aspirations, so he immediately went to Now Learning to see if any training was available. He started with the Welcome to ServiceNow course. Then, a couple of weeks later, he discovered the ServiceNow NextGen program, which offers targeted training and opens up ServiceNow career paths for people with non-traditional backgrounds. Kevin applied for a NextGen externship and was accepted.

Kevin says the program showed him he was capable of changing his life. And, he was able to complete the program while still working at his existing job. He’s incredibly enthusiastic about what he learned, as well as the opportunity to engage with ServiceNow leaders and employees. He’s currently building on that momentum and adding to his skills, including working to become a Certified System Administrator (CSA) and certified Implementation Specialist (CIS). He’s also looking forward to giving back by helping other newcomers to succeed like he has.

Oh, and shortly after completing the NextGen program, Kevin secured a position as an Application Test Engineer at a major corporation, working to test ServiceNow solutions before they are deployed to end users. Congratulations Kevin!
