How Diana Tomova went from feeling lost to finding her passion

Diana Tomova is a shining example of what happens when you RiseUp with ServiceNow. She came to the UK from Bulgaria in 2014 and studied European Studies and Modern Languages. She successfully completed a bachelor’s degree but says she was still searching for a true passion in life.

All of that changed when Diana came across a posting for a ServiceNow NextGen bootcamp at Northeastern University London. She enrolled, and says it was an exciting and rewarding adventure. It was then that she knew she wanted to build a career in the ServiceNow ecosystem, as the possibilities of the Now Platform were endless.

The bootcamp gave Diana a thorough grounding in the skills she needed to succeed. She learned about the ServiceNow platform IT service management and was also introduced to data management, relational databases, and SQL. During the boot camp, she also learned about the fundamentals of ServiceNow administration and has subsequently become a ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA). And Diana did so well that the University awarded her a prize.

That bootcamp was the springboard to a bright career in the ServiceNow ecosystem. Diana’s currently working as a ServiceNow system administrator in a UK government department, and she’s also in the process of completing a Bachelor’s Degree Apprenticeship in Digital and Technology Solutions at Northeastern University, which will further strengthen her ServiceNow skills and open up even more career opportunities.

What has this meant for Diana? She says she finally has a job that interests and challenges her, and she loves working with her new colleagues. Before the bootcamp, she says that she felt like she was lost and her life was on hold. The bootcamp was the light at the end of the tunnel, and she’s incredibly grateful. And she has big plans for the future. Once she completes her bachelor’s degree, she wants to specialize in IT consultancy and dreams of becoming a ServiceNow platform architect.

And Diana is also giving back. She shared her story at the ServiceNow World Forum in 2022 to show other potential students that ServiceNow NextGen has, as she puts it, the power to change lives. And she’s also been featured in three magazine articles, reaching even more people with the message.
