Objective
To provide leading practices and guidance around when and why to use the different notification methods within Employee Center Pro.
Content Experience Widget (CEW) – Home page banner
Guidance
Target the homepage CEW when every visitor within target audience should see/engage with the content, regardless of their visit intent.
Examples
- Time based – News & announcements, timely & important articles, recurring weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly announcements, events, perks, initiatives, etc.
- Action based – Return to work, work-at-home messaging, policy acknowledgement, benefits enrollment, software transitions, tax/W2 address, hardware/phone upgrade eligibility.
Additional Content Experience Widget (CEW) – Home page
Guidance
For situational communication needs consider adding another CEW widget to the Home page below high priority content widgets.
Examples
- Situation based - New hires, parental leave, work anniversary, happy birthday
Content Experience Widget (CEW) – Topic page
Guidance
Target the Topic page CEW when the content is mostly valuable for people who have expressed interest by navigating to that topic area — Topic-specific content.
Examples
- Time based – News & announcements, timely & important articles, recurring weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly announcements, events, perks, initiatives, etc.
- Action based – Return to work, work-at-home messaging, policy acknowledgement, benefits enrollment, software transitions, tax / W2 address, hardware/phone upgrade eligibility.
Time and action-based announcements are achievable through Content Publishing or Campaigns. Situation based announcements are only achievable through Campaigns.
Service Portal Announcement
Guidance
Use judiciously for high-urgency, brief, time-limited information that everyone should see.
Examples
- Emergency IT use-cases or high-urgency visibility messaging.
- Campus or corporate safety urgent messaging
