New in Tokyo release - Create a pop-up form to fill out records next to the Virtual Agent

Import · Feb 25, 2023 · article

In the Tokyo release, you can use the new Form Content Popup Topic Block to show a form that users can fill out outside the Virtual Agent. This is a good alternative to having users fill out a series of multiple questions in the conversation UI.

To enable this, navigate to the Virtual Agent Designer, create a topic, and drag in the "Form Content Popup Topic Block". You can then enter the Table for which you are creating a record (in the above case, Incident) and for sysid, enter "-1". This means you are creating a new record. You can also enter a sys_ID of an existing Incident, which would make it an Edit action.

Once the form pops up, the user may enter in information as they would with regular fields. Then scroll to the bottom to click Submit. The conversation in the Virtual Agent will then automatically continue.

Note: The content form is built using UI Builder. You may see a brief "error" message prior to the form loading but it will then go away.
