We want to introduce you to Kabria Holmes. Kabria is a ServiceNow Business Analyst at NewRocket, an Elite ServiceNow partner, and she's based in Washington DC. As a member of a visible minority, Kabria faced higher hurdles than most when she wanted to get into the IT industry. But now, she's rising up with ServiceNow and building a bright technology career.

Before learning about ServiceNow, Kabria worked as a contract executive assistant and program coordinator while doing her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at the University of Maryland. She knew she wanted to get into the technology industry, but she had very little IT knowledge and experience.

Then Kabria learned about a free ServiceNow bootcamp hosted by TechBridge as part of the ServiceNow NextGen program. NextGen is designed to create equitable employment opportunities for people from communities that are often excluded from IT, equipping them with the skills they need to find fulfilling careers in the ServiceNow ecosystem.

Kabria says that the bootcamp was a great experience. The four-month course covered ServiceNow fundamentals, implementation, and IT service management (ITSM), giving her the core skills she needed to transition her career into IT. And while the bootcamp courses were the same ones that ServiceNow offers on its website, the bootcamp was instructor-led, which, Kabria explains, gave her the extra support and guidance she needed.

Once Kabria completed the bootcamp, she quickly secured her current position at NewRocket. She loves being a business analyst and helping clients make their business run smoother. While Kabria enjoyed her previous jobs, she says she didn't feel satisfied. Now, she says that she feels like a void has been filled and that her new ServiceNow career is everything she had hoped for.

And Kabria knows this is just the start. She's become a Certified ServiceNow Administrator, and she's currently preparing to take her ServiceNow ITSM Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) exam. Her ultimate goal is to become an advocate for her community. She says she wants to show other people who look like her that it's very much possible to transition into technology and make a name for yourself.
