ServiceNow is committed to helping people from all walks of life to RiseUp. To find a place where they can thrive, where their talents are appreciated, their experiences are valued, and their passion is rewarded. And nowhere is that commitment stronger than with our military veterans. That's why we're an enthusiastic partner in the U.S. Department of Defense SkillBridge program. DoD SkillBridge allows service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through industry-specific training, apprenticeships, and internships, connecting members with real-world job experiences, and potential employment opportunities in the ServiceNow ecosystem.

Is a DoD SkillBridge fellowship right for you? We want to tell you about Ken Saxton, who's building a fulfilling career at ServiceNow after being on active service with the U.S. Army Signal Corps, including supporting 24/7 network operations in South Korea, developing training plans, and overseeing personnel administration and equipment maintenance. Ken is now a Senior Engagement Manager with ServiceNow Customer Outcomes after completing the 16-week DoD SkillBridge program at ServiceNow a year ago.

Ken says he feels incredibly fortunate to have discovered DoD SkillBridge and that it's opened up the next chapter in his career. According to Ken, the trainers were incredibly helpful in explaining the ServiceNow platform's technical capabilities. In addition, he appreciated getting practical hands-on experience—including working with other veterans in the program to build and demo a custom ServiceNow application. Equally important, he learned about how ServiceNow improves digital experiences across the enterprise. He also loved that he could learn more about things that interested him, with full access to Now Learning for additional online courses. Best of all, he qualified as a ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) at the end of the course—a skill that's in huge demand.

And DoD SkillBridge goes far beyond just technical training. Ken says the opportunity to network with other service members was a huge plus, as were the mentorship and military transition skills sessions throughout the program. And that community of service members continues. Ken explains many veterans have become success stories working with the ServiceNow platform, and that he continues to meet ServiceNow professionals who are leveraging their military experience on ServiceNow projects. In fact, Ken is actively giving back to this community by volunteering as a mentor and being a DoD SkillBridge guest speaker.

For Ken, it's all part of making the world work better for everyone.
