As of now, there is a prerequisite to complete the CIS-DF certification, and these prerequisites are as follows:

CIS — Hardware Asset Management (HAM)
CIS — Discovery (DISCO)
CIS — IT Service Management (ITSM)
CIS — Service Mapping (SM)
CIS — Security Incident Response (SIR)
CIS — Software Asset Management (SAM)
CIS — Vulnerability Response (VR)

The CIS-DF should be completed on or before December 31, 2026. If CIS-DF is not completed, then the above-mentioned exams will also expire.

CIS-DF is now free for the first attempt till June 2026. Use this first free attempt wisely for CIS-DF, so you don't want to re-attempt the exam.
