Government is finally coming off its AI sugar high.

At the Digital.NSW Showcase this week, I hosted a lunch with senior NSW leaders where the conversation shifted from AI FOMO to something more grown-up: outcomes, skills, and real guardrails.

We talked about saying “no” to AI for its own sake, opening up new talent pathways through micro-credentials and flexible careers, and moving from governance-on-paper to governance that actually shapes decisions.
