welcome to this quick video on the support section of the chrome web store section of snutils i got this question is there a way to make search function after highlighting a serial number from a request to make the search in the hardware asset table it will would be of great help so my understanding is is that you have a serial number like this that you would like to search that so with the slash command functions we can create something like that so first let's navigate to the alm underscore hardware table and after we are in the hardware table we can i can first copy it copy the sample and then add the filter serial number starts with offer or if and then run it so my understanding is this is what we are after so with command 2 i want to focus on this screen and now we see the url over here so i'm gonna copy the url like this copy like this and then when i go to [Music] slash commands i'm gonna create a new slash command and i'm gonna call it uh ast from assets and this will be my url so serial number this is what the hard-coded one so if i'm gonna change this to dollar zero this will be a variable and by not adding a slash is if i would add a slash this would always open in a new window so in this case that might be handy and i'm gonna say the hint asset by serial and then save it okay and now it basically already should work so i do need to refresh the page so now what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna select the text and now when i start typing a slash it will open up flash commands ast is the newly created command i hit space and now when i hit back backslash it fills in the the the selected text so that's the trick type in backslash to fill in the selected text and now when i hit enter it opens a new window with that list of matching serials so i could amend it a little in this case because when i look up the the one so i'm gonna change it a little in this case uh this should be a a one hit so this should only result in one match because the serial number is unique so when i remove the underscore list part and i save it and i'm gonna close this window and i'm gonna refresh this to reflect the updated slash command and i'm gonna try it again ast explains space in backslash oh sorry i have not selected the text right now so first select the text slash asd space backslash enter now it directly navigates to the record so i hope this helps thank you and see you next time
