Q: Which plugin is needed to see the System Mobile items?

A: This is the only plugin needed to install Now Mobile for HR.

Q: Are there any licensing fees associated with making applications in studio for mobile?

A: Our mobile apps are all platform-wide capabilities that should be included each of your product subscriptions. They are all available as free downloads from the Apple iOS store and Google Play store, but the user functionality depends on different customer entitlements (You will need to be a HR customer to use the HR workflow for Now Mobile). So what that means is any custom tables or non-ServiceNow product tables would require having the Now Platform App Engine licensing. For further details, I’d recommend reaching out to your account rep to confirm.

Q: Is Now Mobile similar to mobile classic for the true/false toggle button on a form view? And where can I find the toggle buttons for the agent app?

A: On your action item, create an item parameter then change the type to ‘Boolean’

Q: How do you place an alert or announcement link in top of home screen?

A: This is a custom configuration with a custom item view JSON. With Mobile Studio and our Now Platform UI you can create your own item view JSONs.

Q: There is lot of scope switching in Now Mobile app , are there any plans in the future to minimize this?

A: Now Mobile contains a collection of scoped apps and unfortunately, editing them requires the admin to switch scopes.

Q: What is the sysid in the header titles field? It shows the name "Maria Davies", but I guess it is not hard-coded?

A: We recommend configuring header title using Mobile Studio. When you set the Header type to ‘Home’, the back-end table on Now Platform will autofill the user’s name. Alternatively, you can copy and paste the script on the Now Platform UI and apply it to any other header title field on your applet launchers if you want it to autofill the user’s name.

Q: Can you change the icons next to the onboarding phase (i.e. not a half moon)?

A: See the product documentation on how to configure the text decorator.

Q: How do you display your iPhone in real time on your desktop?

A: This is a feature apart of the native Quicktime app on Apple computers. For more information see this article.
