Iframe Resize Script
welcome back to code creative I'm Travis Tolson depending on your version of ServiceNow you may have noticed an issue in your ESS portal where I frames are not resizing properly contents getting cut off and duplicates scroll bars are appearing in this episode we're going to take a look at installing a script that will help solve these issues for you to install the workaround first navigate to the github gist URL for the workaround then we're going to go ahead and copy this script and carry it over to the ServiceNow instance we want to install it in we're gonna navigate to the UI scripts and click new to create a new script and we'll just give it a quick name here iframe resize script or something to that effect make sure that you mark the script as global so that it runs on every page in the system and then paste these script into the script field click on submit and then we'll go ahead and test it out in our ESS portal and what you'll see is that the scroll bar in certain browsers like older versions of ie is still there along the side but the iframe has expanded to fit the internal content and this scroll bar can easily be removed by setting the overflow property to none on either the iframe or the internal content where that scroll bar appears in newer browsers and you know most browsers on the Mac you won't have this issue and you won't need to hide that scroll bar because it'll just simply work now this workaround should work for most content in the out of box ESS if you find that there's certain content that it's not working for then you're going to need to make some changes to the script and we'll cover that in a future video so thanks for joining me if you have any questions feel free to leave it in the comment section or send me a message on Twitter or in the sir now community
