the question that was set forth in the challenge was how can traditionally underserved populations have access to opportunity and fully participate in the technology enabled and digitally literate workforces of the [Music] future we have 24 hours before the mit servicenow digital workforce challenge live pitch i'm grateful for all the judges for giving up their time i'm really really excited to just see what they think of it this is exactly the kind of uh the kind of person that we want to be talking to it's such an amazing opportunity slowly getting a little bit nervous which i think is a good sign we have our pitch tomorrow we are very very excited the thing that i'm feeling most intensely right now is hungry today's the day of it it is the day so we can experiment to their fullest potential enabling them to live healthy and socioeconomically empowered lives we're breaking down traditional education and some of the barriers that exist to ensure that refugees can fulfill their potential what we're trying to do in the foundation which is to inspire more young people from more diverse backgrounds to create the best digital future as a technology layer we sit between the employment service and the job seeker that's where forte comes in financing of return to employment charger help sits at the intersection of workforce development adult learning and clean technology ferris a for-profit organization and the first text message learning platform our innovation is to fix the tech talent gap fundamentally changing who bears the risk for creating future generations of software engineers and developers annie cannons transforms underserved survivors of human trafficking and gender-based violence into software engineers what has impressed me most about the digital workforce solutions that i've seen is the innovation the creativity all of these solutions they have the power to change people's lives it felt like such a privilege to be a judge for this award because of the excellent quality of all the projects which made it extremely difficult to choose a winner for me it was a i mean it was an amazing experience to to be educated to some degree in things that i wasn't aware of but to but to also see the the diversity of ideas and the richness of ideas i am pleased today to announce that our employees choice award winner is annie cannons annie canons will receive a ten thousand dollar grant from servicenow employees i'm incredibly excited to announce that our grand prize winner for the digital challenge is charger help yay help gotta go to confetti corn thank you rachel you will be receiving a hundred thousand dollar grant from servicenow as well as mentorship opportunities your focus on environmental issues climate issues and using technology in the emergence of new jobs in a new workforce to help train people we felt like this was a sweet spot of what we're trying to do i'm just excited for where we can go i'm excited that you all were able to see the vision and and understand it for our communities around us so i just think in the in the climate of today this is amazing and hopeful um for our entire country i just saw an opportunity and just thought that there's no reason why there's so much money in this industry and we're not figuring out ways to do stuff a little bit differently we truly believe that people can learn people can learn and excel as long as they have like the right resources and the technology is created in such a way that allows them to do that
