Report Management in ServiceNow

Import · Jun 08, 2015 · article

This last video in our 6-part series that goes into detail about reporting. It provides good practices for managing reports to ensure that they deliver the intended value without impacting system performance. You will need the report_admin role to get the most out of this video.

When users are granted the ability to create their own reports, monitoring and management of them is important because of duplication. Managing reports in ServiceNow requires monitoring the reporting environment, reviewing reports periodically to ensure that performance is not being affected, and taking action if there is an issue.

For best video quality, increase your player resolution to 1080p.

Tips for managing reports:

  • Scheduled reports should be generated and created during non-business hours
  • Check with the report owner and its recipients before changing the scheduling of a report or deleting it
  • Create a standard report to move toward consolidation and get users familiar with getting their data from one source
