Service Catalog: How to configure Contextual Search with Record Producer

Import · Oct 27, 2015 · article

Contextual search allows you to configure fields on forms and record producers to automatically display knowledge search results based on the text entered in those fields. This is a feature from Fuji release. For more details please see the video on Contextual Search.

But we can configure Record Producer variables to work with Contextual Search.

Go to Contextual Search -> Record Producer Configuration

Click New and fill in the required information.

Note you can refer to the variable once you select the Record Producer.

Once the configuration is ready you can go to the record producer from your catalog and start typing and you should see the Contextual Search result in action.

This is great way for getting incident deflection.

To turn off, you can make the active flag false on Record Producer Configuration under Contextual Search module.

But admin would get a info message when they use the corresponding record producer.

This error message is only and only for the admin, other users are not affected.
