Many of you shared that while Impact provides valuable recommendations, taking those insights and manually recreating them in Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) / Collaborative Work Management (CWM) was a repetitive and time-consuming process. It slowed you down when you needed to act quickly.

We also heard that once work items transitioned to SPM, there was no way to track progress or provide additional guidance. This gap limited both visibility and collaboration, making it harder to ensure the recommendations delivered their intended value.

Our Solution: Seamless Integration Between Impact and SPM

The SPM Integration is here to solve these problems. It streamlines how you transition recommendations from Impact into SPM, saving you time and effort. Here’s how it works:

• Automated Transition: Recommendations from Impact are directly converted into SPM work items—no manual re-entry is required.
• Portfolio Alignment: The work items are automatically assigned to the right portfolio and include all the correct attributes, ensuring they’re ready for execution.

Coming in May 2025 - Progress Tracking: You will be able to track the completion and progress of SPM work items directly in Impact, giving you and your Impact Squad real-time visibility.

How It Works: A Simpler Path to Action

Here’s what the workflow looks like with the SPM Integration:

1. Receive Recommendations in Impact: Start with actionable insights delivered directly within Impact.
2. Convert Recommendations OR add free-form initiatives to SPM Work Items: In a seamless process, recommendations are automatically transformed into SPM entities with appropriate attributes and portfolio assignments.
3. Recommendations categorized as Impact initiatives and accelerators from the accelerator catalog cannot be converted.
4. Free-form initiatives that are in the canceled or completed state are also ineligible for conversion.
5. Coming in May 2025 - Track Progress in Impact: Stay informed by monitoring the status and completion of work items directly within Impact, ensuring alignment and accountability.
